Ruby dress. Discreet nose, red fruits, griotte, fig, spicy, smoke, charcoal, tobacco. Half-deep bodied. Melted tannins. The bouquet is fine, but the acidity is average, it's to be drunk now. Needs at least one hour of aeration to deliver. Not the lushest Brunello I've drunk (vintage effect?) But it's elegant.
Robe rubis profonde. Nez discret, fruits rouges, griotte, figue, épicé, fumée, charbon, tabac. Bouche demi-corsée, profonde. Tanins fondus. Le bouquet est fin, mais l’acidité est moyenne, c’est à boire maintenant. A besoin d’une heure d’aération au moins, pour se livrer. Pas le Brunello le plus luxuriant que j’ai bu (effet millésime?) mais c’est élégant. — 3 years ago
Third 90 Ponsot bottle served blind. This is bright tawny and translucent. When compared to the CSD served before it, this is more masculine with a dark cherry nose that is tight for the first 4-5 hours. By the time it’s served, though, it’s opened up and comes on as a rich and very powerful glass of juice. In addition to the regular notes of bing cherry, dark earth and rhubarb, this adds some mocha and a little cherry cola as well. Has a Rousseau-like precision in its delivery. From where it started to where it ended ~9 hours after opening, this evolved and improved the most. Great experience! (Bday 8 of 12) — 4 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2006 pours a deep ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity, with faint staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with lovely notes of tart and ripe, mostly red fruit: raspberries, strawberry, red flowers, mushrooms, forest floor, and gentle baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and silky. I found this to be quite a remarkable showing from a somewhat unremarkable vintage. Perfect pairing with the duck. Drink now through 2036. — 3 months ago
Beautiful purple shinny dress. A lively and concentrated wine, with freshness, and the racy charms of gamay in Beaujolais: Notes of cherry, strawberry. Crunch and a great potential for evolution.
Belle robe brillante violine. Un vin vif et concentré, avec de la fraîcheur, et les charmes racés du gamay en Beaujolais: Notes de griotte, fraise. Du croquant et un beau potentiel d’évolution. — 4 years ago

Bright reddish tawny color, translucent. Fruit forward nose. Has a sweetness to it. Notes of dark fruit, spice, dark earth. Not overly fruity in the mouth - a bit dry even. I guess 88 Faiveley Griotte or similar Chambertin. Got the 88 right. With air over the evening, this developed more DRC like notes including roses and salt, Asian spice, etc. — 3 years ago
