The 2019 Isole e Olena CC is clean and expressive with dusty dark cherries, black tea, orange pith, dry earth. Good structure for a variety of meals. Bone dry. A long, slightly bitter finish. Made detailed notes and then lost them....must be an over 70’s thing. This wine was #6 in the 2014 Wine Spectator Top 100. Not your typical Chianti Classico with a small 7% of Merlot and 10% Malvasia Nera with small oak maturation. The first of 5. Some cherry/ red fruited notes. Savoury dry tannins.
