Cave De La Côte

Henri Jayer

Échezéaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1999

This seemed flat & not correct so another btl was opened & although better it had the same profile. Martine acknowledged the 99 Ech always showed this way. This was my least favorite Echezeaux. — 3 days ago

Vincent Girardin

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 1999

Light golden color and some nuttiness and butterscotch show its age and complement a mineral and fresh lemony core. Not as complex as would be ideal, but still very enjoyable unlike some prior bottles that were overly oxidized. — 9 days ago

Henri Jayer

Echezeaux Pinot Noir 1980

The 80 & 93 vintage seemed to be great years for Jayer as their Ech & CP were some of best in the lineup tonight. — 3 days ago

Domaine Roulot

Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2004

Straw to medium gold color. Nice weight. Notes of apricot, tan spice, kiwi, dusty clay and some wax. At first it’s watery and sweet in the mouth. After 2+ hours of air it firms up to give nice structure and acidity. Slightly missing in the mid palate. Good not great. Continue to be unsure about this wine which I’ve had many times. It’s better today than samples from the past few years. Maybe just more time is needed. — 4 days ago

I don’t think his Charmes is his best

Domaine Faiveley (Joseph Faiveley)

Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru 2010

Cherry compote, red rose, green tea , and spiced aromas framed by exceptionally clean fruit flavors, good acidity and palate cleansing tannins. Deliciously good now; lots of life remaining. — 6 days ago

Domaine Armand Rousseau

Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2007

Drinking beautifully that is polished & still on the younger side. Notes of dark cherry, berry fruits, crushed rock, spice & rose petal. — 2 days ago

Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux

Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2016

Nose of raspberries, spices and a hint of flowers. Very fine, almost not noticeable tannins and a floral element in the mouth that is medium lenght and ends on licorice and flowers. Interestingly accessible today but lots of potential. More to hold than to drink. Highly recommended. Charles Lachaux does less new oak and less extraction, more whole bunches, and it shows. Very elegant overall. — 19 hours ago

Far Niente Winery

Cave Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

This wine is, not surprisingly, spectacular. After a 90 minute decant, it was bold, dry, had a nice amount of tannins and was a lush expression of dark fruit. — 9 days ago

"Dans un Premier Temps..." Vignerons Brut Chardonnay

Ripe pears, toast, with good acidity and saline qualities. Tons of fun and this beats the bottle I had a couple of years back by a good mile! — 3 days ago

Grands Échézeaux Pinot Noir 2014

Somm offered me this at half off of their wine list. I could not refuse. Beautiful vintage but needs a lot more time. — 5 days ago
