Thought it paired really nicely with lamb dish I ordered and Zoe’s peppercorn duck dish — 3 days ago
Gold Cap (Bessards-Meal blend), purchased at Marche-aux-Vins in Ampuis in January, 2009, this shows lovely aromatics of iron, mineral, some floral as well, very tight, structured palate with mostly black fruit flavors, clean, balanced, very long finish, ideally needs more cellaring, but I think I only bought 1 so that’s not happening, great Syrah from Hermitage!! — a month ago
Oh my… outstanding! — a month ago
Decided to try one of these guys. Somewhat surprised - more accessible and quite a bit glossier than I was expecting. The 14.5% is well balanced with great acid. Nice deep berry fruit but perhaps doesn’t have as much of those characteristic St. Joseph briny, earthy, olivey, somewhat rustic notes as expected. Nice pairing with shepherd’s pie made from leftovers from Christmas. — a month ago
Clean, full bodied Montrachet with almondy body, hint of lemon and in excellent condition. — 3 years ago
Fresh raspberries made delicate after nine years in the bottle. A crowd pleaser at the Christmas table. — a month ago
Surprising amount of energy and lift for a wine of this type, still full bodied but leans more towards a medium red than heavy. Very soft tannins, blackberry forward with some plum, blueberry, a bit of raspberry & floral notes and cedar — 2 months ago

Poured into a decanter about an hour prior to service; enjoyed alongside the 2020 “Le Geynale” by Vincent Paris, over the course of a couple hours. The 2020 pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose the wine is developing with blackberries, black plum, fig, lavender, black pepper, bacon fat, Gaeta olive, dried green herbs and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and sanguine. Compared to the Vincent Paris, this was slightly less perfumed, missing some of the high notes from “Le Geynale”. However, this had the base and blood of Chaillot, from which 100% of the fruit is sourced. Outstanding. Drink now through 2050. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 3 days ago
