Apple and pear on the nose and pallet also very minerally with a lil butter but not overdone as I hate butter bombs but a quality chardonnay here very drinkable — a year ago
My first time drinking a white wine from Lopez De Heredia and it’s unlike any wine I’ve ever had before. Very fragrant and a lot of different tastes coming to the forefront. Bruised apple, quince, beeswax and honey. Some almond, slight oxidation and salinity like a fino sherry. This is a big and unusual wine. Not something I would drink daily, but enjoyed it as much on a taste as on an intellectual level. — 3 years ago
Zippy, savory funny undertones. Very good! Had at Emily with pizza in NYC. — 4 months ago
Medium lemon straw centre . Quite aromatic on the nose , lemon curd , peach , touch of pineapple and toasty oak. On the palate rich and big boned , lots of toasty lemon peal , apricot and creamy peach notes , decent acidity and just balanced alcohol , quite a mouthful however . Ok length with the toasty , buttery elements and ripe yellow fruits dominating . I would be tempted to drink this over the next 5-8 years as I don’t think it has the acidic backbone to take it long haul. — 9 months ago
Lighter appearance but big and bold flavors - ripe yellow apples, caramelized fruits, limes, vanilla and cream. Acidity/lime keeps it from going over the top with the ripeness and richness. Moderate amount of matchstick. Drinking well now but definitely has more time to enjoy. — 3 years ago
a perfect sip, a bit acidic on the finish, but no oak. — 6 months ago
Classic NZ label. Smells funky. Lawn just cut or a piece of fresh grass in the teeth. And lemon citrus peels. Flavors are complex and very audacious. Bombastic even. Plenty of citrus, but something else as well. Shells? Like the calcium carbonate in those. Also big gooseberries. This is a good example of how NZ Sauv Blanc differs from the other styles out there. This wine packs a punch. — 10 months ago
