A great reminder of why I like nebbiolo and barbaresco in particular so much. Beautiful light red in the glass. With an hour decant the aromas of delicate dark red fruit and earth come through. Very nice body. Great acid on the finish but perhaps a bit of rusticity with some slightly chunky tannins. Great with meatballs. — 7 days ago
We finished this off tonight as well. What began as a young bruiser full of firm tannins eventually opened into a beautifully finessed picture of elegance. Exotic spice & floral aromatics surround the fresh cherry notes here. Ethereal palate weight balanced the power here. Very nice. — 11 days ago
When first opened this was very primary but with air it turned into a beautiful barbaresco. Very terroir driven. Medium body with bright acidity. If you’re not on the balancedwineselection.com mailing list, I would get on it.
Some of the most thoughtful and well selected wines being imported today — 10 days ago
Drank 3/21/20. Excellent with penne with sausage, mustard, and cream sauce.
I had originally had this wine from Magnum around 3 months ago, via Coravin. For whatever reason, it does seem to have improved a bit.
Scents of are now more reminiscent of nebbiolo, with characteristic rose petal and tar, accompanied by red cherry and a bit of petrol. Red cherry, earth, and spice are accompanied by leather notes and medium, well integrated tannins.
