Oh yeah. Perfect complement to our grilled fish and jerk chicken. Reggae band and beach vibes blended well with the crisp, coastal taste of this rioja blanco. — 3 years ago
Big storm and power just went out at 3 in the afternoon. Breaks my heart to put work aside and open this!
Almost have it 93. The nose is great. Violets, strawberry, and burnt orange peel. Palate is fun too. Slightly reductive, cherry, strawberry, salinity, and minerality.
I purchased this at North Loop Wine / Spirits in Minneapolis. Check out this shop if you haven’t/can. Great selection! Very helpful staff as well. I asked for the best Pinot under $60 and he passed quite a few easy names to give me this. So glad he did! They have a great selection of high end stuff, maybe best in MN? This was Track 6, which I believe was a 2011 vintage. A bit of decanting, and it was quite delicious. — 6 years ago
The nose reveals, jammy red fruits; blackberries, black raspberries, touch of black plum, blue & purple fruits and baked strawberries. Dark, rich, dark soils, crushed dry rocks, vanilla, black licorice, dark berry cola, touch of band aid, dark spice with, bright, fresh, red, dark and purple flowers.
The body restrained for Syrah. The tannins are fine, firm, weighty and sticky. Jammy red fruits; blackberries, black raspberries, touch of black plum, blue & purple fruits and baked strawberries. Dark, rich, dark soils, crushed dry rocks, vanilla, black licorice, dark berry cola, touch of band aid, dark spice with, bright, fresh, red, dark and purple flowers. The acidity is good. The finish will take some time to flush out and wine to better ingrate.
Photos of; Keermont property as viewed from the top of their hillside vineyards, cellar concrete & stainless steel tanks and one of the many snakes that live on the property. This one passed by while Alex was showing us his vineyard. And, yes, his venom is toxic and could end your life if not treated straight away.

Blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, 14.5% alc/vol. Nose dominated by Merlot notes, cherry, then later strawberry, while flavors reflect a more balanced blend of the three varietals. Rounded mouthfeel. Peppery finish with some skin tannins. Old school West Coast red, but shifted by use of top Washington state red varietals. A second label offering under a groovy first label brand. Great value. — 4 years ago
Not quite as good as I remember this the last time I had it. There was more of a smoky element that wasn’t there before and it seemed that the fruit wasn’t quite as bright. Still, this was a very nice wine and wish I had more of it. — 6 years ago
More and more I will be getting out of my comfort zone. This is a single vineyard Chenin Blanc from South Africa, Stellenbosch. Hand-picked whole bunches, kept on the skins for 12 hours after harvest before gentle pressing. 12 month fermentation and maturation in 225L French oak barrels. The skin contact produces a beautiful medium gold color that's as shiny as a wedding band on a honeymoon. Indeed, honeysuckle is among the aromas that also include pear, peach, apricot, marmalade, and a twist of lime. Everything gets confirmed on the palate, with a touch of brioche. Medium plus bodied, dry (with a hint of residual sugar on the tongue), medium acidity. A great wine.

Ha, this is a first. I wanted to rate this bottle; turns out I already rated (and hence tasted) this wine 29 weeks ago.
@Edi I said it was pretty good then. Well, it’s still pretty good now; we’re having it whilst listening to a live Romanian band. Last time, I was having it while the rest of the guests were just passing out (or worse).

B+. Bright red cherry on the nose, on the palate raspberry, cherry, bright red fruit. Band of Bohemia. Chicago. 2018. — 8 years ago
This is a big one, bold, juicy, with real presence of the 16% alcohol despite the age. Nose of blackberry, pine wood, vanilla, band-aid, somewhat musty clothes, and cacao. The age is definitely there in the musk and dustiness, but it’s unclear what to expect with a beast like this. Full bodied, dark purple/red and deep color, but no sense of the age in the color. Palate shows more of the age, deep chocolate notes, overripe plum, driftwood, slate and some malo-like milky elements. The alcohol is definitely there, with a finish like menthol, softened but present, well integrated tannins, with those Chico-raspberry like hints lingering for a long time into a finish that’s round and somewhat meaty. Weirdly, VERY strangely, tastes a little bit like skin. — 6 months ago
Fresh green/yellow fruit flavor without being overly sweet. A little bit of new rubber band smell. Very drinkable alone or with food with some spice to it. Very friendly ABV. — 5 years ago
Kitá, red blend, Santa Ynez Valley, CA, Vintage 2014, ABV 13.5%. The blend is comprised of 48% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. @kitawines
👁 It had a beautiful purple hue and vibrant notes of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, plum, violets, cedar, nutmeg, vanilla, leather, and tobacco. 👃 👄
I loved learning about the background on this wine and winemaker Tara Gomez, who studied enology with financial help from her tribe, the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. 💕 Tara has worked with iconic figures in the California wine world — such as Fess Parker and J. Lohr— and has traveled the world, honing her own unique style of winemaking that blends the best of old world and new world techniques. 👏👏👏 @tgomez805
This red blend is made of grapes grown on the Camp 4 Vineyard, purchased by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians in 2010, when Tara was hired as head winemaker. 🍇🍇 The land was previously cultivated by Fess Parker, who had an influence on Tara’s budding career while interning at Fess Parker Winery during her enology studies.
The word "Kitá" means "Our Valley Oak" in the Santa Ynez Chumash native language of Samala. The wine is speaks to “place” and respect for the land from which it is cultivated. 🌎 🌳 Yields and production are kept small to promote sustainable growing practices and the grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with minimal intervention. — 5 years ago

2015 opened 2020. This is a wine with a soft beginning, but it explodes at the end. Black tea and tobacco on the nose. Ripe fruit on the front (cassis and blueberries), and, although the fruit is sweet, it’s very restrained. The tannins are also restrained, but at the same time they’re solid and smooth with a gentle mouth feel on the mid palate. And like the guiding hand of an old friend, with a gentle insistence they lead you into a room where there’s a surprise party waiting for you. And the band starts playing as you enter the room. It’s an unexpected finale which is pretty spectacular, with all sorts of high notes overlaid on deeper earth tones. Then the earth notes fade, leaving the high notes vibrating into a long finish. This wine can only get better, but it’s fantastic right now. NOTE: after an hour in the decanter this wine completely opens a up and begins to fade. Frankly, I find it more interesting right out of the bottle then from an hour in the decanter. — 6 years ago

Likely the best of what I’ve had from Hiyu, which is not a compliment. - at Laurelhurst — 4 days ago
