Das Kleine Kreuz Pfalz Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Very Bordeaux in style, cassis, dark plums and black currant, a whiff of cedar wood. An earthy note, too. A touch of blackberry jam.
On the palate this remains fresh with zippy acidity, crunchy dark fruit, a nice tannic frame. The wood perfectly integrated, the finish fresh, juicy. This is delicious, year in, year out.

Bordeaux from Germany there you have it. Global warming at its finest.

Dominio de Punctum

Petulante Pét Nat White Blend 2020

This white, sparkling wine is actually a cloudy yellow color and brings a savory nose of citrus, floral and minerals aplenty. The palate also rings the citrus bell, with a bit of apple and many minerals thrown into the mix. The bubbles are scant, but the flavor is what you're really after, right? This wine delivers white wine flavor by the carload. — 4 months ago

Auxo Colli di Luni Sangiovese Blend 2017

Pale garnet; medium plus intensity aromas of wild berries, spices, black cherry, red plum, spiced apple rings, dry herbs, sweet baking spices, vine; dry, medium plus acid, medium smooth tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; spicy light and complex, delightful — a month ago

Emilio Ramirez Envinate

Benje Tenerife Tinto 2020

A full bodied red at 13%, but only with a decant. Think cranberries mixed with lava rock and you’d be close. Given the abv obviously fresh, but such a foundational layer of fine tannins, & it developed in the glass. Just one more feather in the Canary Island cap. Wouldn’t be surprised this still rings bells at age six — 4 months ago

This gang of winemakers did such a great job. It changed my mind about the otherwise mostly generic Spanish wine business.
