Petit Chablis Chardonnay 2017

How is this possible? Somebody please explain. This is a terroir and appellation busting wine. Simultaneously precise and generous and all lemony steely joy. — 9 days ago

Clos Saint-Vincent

Le Clos Vin de Bellet Red Blend 2018

This wine from the cote d’Azur is surprisingly light and actually close to what I was looking for tonight.
A very natural (in the nice way) smell that shows a bit of reduction and a tiny bit pungent, then some sort of redcurrant indeed or rasberries. In the mouth it is very dry and very light, tiny extraction but long taste. Nice salinity, a bit wild. Really happily surprised. 90% folle noire and 10% grenache. Well done to the winemaker!

Séchet Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2008

Light yellow gold. Bright fruit forward nose. Notes of lemon and apricot, wet gravel stone, some honey and a delicious spice. Fine grained acidity hits the mouth and makes an impact. Great nose powers up over the evening. Still young and needs more time to improve. Lighter in the mid palate but still outperforms expectations. — 8 days ago

Vaillons Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

First day was more honey than citrus with a loamy mouthfeel and oxidized finish. Second day was knife-sharp lemon acidity, but still somehow in balance. Stunning to think this is the same grape as a million other Chardonnays, this feels like wine at a very high level. — 20 days ago

Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay 2016

Wow. This btl showed spectacularly. Pop and pour, maybe 45 min slow ox. On the nose: this screams Chassagne (my wife said she felt transported back to Burgundy): soft chalk, limestone, ripe apple, lemon, slate...just amazing complexity. On the palate: fantastic acidity, lemon oil, tangerine, lemon custard, ginger, slate, limestone, salt...a plethora of flavors. Just lingers on the well put-together. — 9 days ago

@Bob McDonald the cork says VINCENT on one side, so I think: "this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you", haha. I can only afford the Bourg Blanc anymore, so that's the only 2018 from this producer I have :(
