A must try if you never had a Lugana, you will not be disappointed. Made with 100% Turbiana grapes. Lugana can be consumed young or aged for a few years gaining some mineral tones and elegance. Light straw yellow color, with rich ripe stone fruit and floral aromas. On the palate flavors of ripe apricot, pear, peach and citrus wrapped in balanced acidity on a long finish ending with fruit and mineral character. Nice value. Buy 2 and put one aside for a few years! — a month ago
Not too sweet, slightly acidic but quite buttery. Good parts of a Chardonnay without a ton of oakiness or too much richness. — 5 months ago
Just a delicious wine! I challenge anyone to find something better at, or below, this price point of $14.
Prior notes hold very solid:
Nose has under-ripe tropical fruit, yellow peach, spiced pear and wet minerals.
Palate has poached pear, fresh citrus rind and pineapple, hint of salinity.
100% Trebbiano di Lugana (Turbiana) — 7 months ago
Nose has wet rocks, white flowers, green herbs, fresh cut hay field and lime peel & zest.
Palate has fresh lemon, crushed green herbs, under-ripe lychee, green apple peel with great lingering acidity.
This particular Lugana is actually Turbiana (Verdicchio for this village), not Trebbiano. — 2 months ago
Single vineyard Lugana Turbiana. Delicious. — 4 months ago
Awesome. Herbaceous and minty but lush and textural. Rivals champagne for sure, with a little something extra and unusual that the latter can’t provide. — 7 months ago
100% Turbiana per DOC law. 6 mos on lees. no oak. gravelly calcareous clay soils. peachy, beeswax, honey. not sweet. rich on the palate. stone fruit. lemon zest. delicious. the nose is a little shut down. — 4 months ago
