Vintage 2018 | The wine is now so appealing, it is difficult to put it away in the cellar and not think about it, for say five years… minerals in the smell and a excellent balance with breathtaking sweet that is balanced by awesome acidity. 2019 vintage. This one is for @Ron R. Massive mouthfeel/bod and slightly sweet but not unpleasantly so. Nebulous flavor cloud of jammy flavors without semi-clear definition and direction currently. Still…so giving and voluptuous. Will be intriguing to see where this settles in two years…five years…a decade. Great bottle. Decanted for about 3.5 hrs. Velvety tannins. Sweet cherry licorice core. Marvin Gaye smooth. A bit more air might have helped the finish, which was good but a tad short. In its drinking window but can go for another five to ten easy. — 15 days ago
Pomerol: my favorite Bordeaux Appellation, by far. Solid! With so much life and time left in the bottle… Heck, I could pair this with prime rib eye and and it would cut the fat seamlessly. Yeah, this is outstanding, and will only get better and better, peaking in about four or five more years. Amazing prolonged intense tannic finish. Cheers. — 15 days ago
Dark, beautiful color. Decanted for an hour and forty five minutes or so.
Nose: Pencil shavings/graphite, cassis, orange peel, coffee, earth, raisin, milk chocolate, dried flowers, oak, dried herbs, dark berries. Oh boy!
Taste: the milk chocolate and cocoa really come through - along with a lot of herbs Mulberry (think a blackberry with a much more mineral taste.). Medium weight. Silky, elegant. Very, very good. You can tell it’s young (some vegetal tannins on the finish), but still a treat. Of the three excellent, high-er-end-ish (for me) red wines that I’ve had recently, I think this is the one I would be most likely to come back to. 94-95.
