RSV has just under 200 acres of vineyards in 5 Carneros locations & a winery in the Stags Leap District. The wines are 100% organic. Ruby with delightful berry, cherry & spice aromas that carries through to palate with strawberry & cherry and complex spice, citrus and a touch of oak with fine soft tannins. Lively acidity gives the wine good balance, carries through the finish with an earthy creamy characteristic ending with notes of vanilla spice. Nice! — 4 days ago
Sex in a bottle. The good kind. Everyone has their own favorite California winery, but for me there’s no doubt. It’s Robert Craig. Deep purple with cherry red undertones in the glass. How about this nose? It starts with ripe red fruit up top. Cherries and raspberries and fresh strawberries oh my! Warm spices and créme de cassis follow that up. The barest hint of vanilla tops it all off.
I love the funk. I live for the funk, I die for the funk. But that’s not the water that Robert Craig swims in. Completely eschewing dirty funk, this is a profoundly clean and immediate wine. Full bodied but with none of the seemingly innate flabbiness of other Cabernet dominated blends. Pure sexy sleekness instead here. — a day ago
En Mag - this is my second time around and celebrated a deal closing - as in 2017 this wine delivered - amazingly it is getting better - this is from a single vineyard at 2000 feet on Howell - this is full bodied mid palette sweet tannins with a rich nose long legs black currant berries and and I think it is getting better - ten plus years left - dark purplish color - I LOVE It and made a nice splash last night — 14 days ago
Black cherry liquor, candied plum, cool blackberry, lavender pastille, olive caramel, bacon fat, cool herbs, woodsmoke, fine layers of hung meat and forest notes. Fruit is bouyant, juicy and offers immense pleasure while its wild side adds dimension. To me there is a perfect amount of richly layered fruit and palate weight with proper acid balance to cut it all back. Tannins are ripe, yet supportive. — 12 days ago
A fun gamay, Côte Roannaise. Vines managed in biodynamics. The color is brilliant ruby, the nose is very open, with a beautiful aromatic density on notes of ripe fruit, cherries and a floral touch. The palate is round, with a nice density typical of lightly processed wines .. a lot of elegance. The finish is discreetly persistent on very fine but very present tannins.
— 14 days ago
Nose has over-ripe/sweet pineapple, lanolin, fresh pineapple, melted candle wax, clean cotton tee shirt and faint white pepper.
Palate has dried pineapple, dried lime peel, tangerine peel, spicy oak, waxy yellow apple peel, hint of (citrus) sweetness on the long/complex finish. Wow. Decanted 4H.
Bought at the winery in 2008, was looking to hold the bottle at least this long, maybe another 5Y would still be acceptable in proper storage. A perfect, clean cork pull, no seepage or saturation at all. — 18 days ago
