Color: medium ruby/garnet
Nose: Blackberry, boysenberry, sweet cherry, pomegranate, mint; medium intensity
Palate: Blackberry jam, raisins, prunes; fruity! medium to low tannins; high acidity but tamed by all the fruits.
This is a classic California Zin fruit bomb without the heaviness. The rating is based on my personal preference for fruity wines. — 3 months ago
After 20 years, it still took extensive decanting to soften the initially gripping tannins. Once it did, beautiful dark fruits came through. Black currants, stewed prunes, delicious and full on the palate. Outstanding. Paired well with Brie and beef chow fun!! — 10 months ago
Red fruit notes and a little bit of spice. Cherry, thyme, fig. What a surprise delight. 13.9% alc. medium garnet. Easy to drink. Pretty sure this is a Sangiovese blend. — 23 days ago
Deep ruby/purple color. Black currant, blueberry, berry bramble, cocoa powder, blackberries, on the nose. Full bodied and medium tannins on the palate. Balanced, intense, and complex. Perfect chocolate wine. 81% Merlot, 19% Malbec. The Malbec really comes through in the color and palate. This is only three years old and already so drinkable. Although the recommended cellaring by the winemaker is only eight years. — 3 months ago
What a treat ! Beautiful structure, even at 20 years old. Still a yellow lemon color, not at all showing its age. Tiny and vibrant bubbles. Pastries, biscuits on the nose, beautiful rounded mouth-feel barely a hint of age. Never disappoints. Thanks Acquis, received in July 2015. Opening for a special occasion. — 10 months ago
Nose: honeysuckle, elderflower, pear, orange zest, cooked apple. On the palate it is soft and rounded. Typical characteristics of a Chardonnay. It was lovely. — a month ago
Floral nose, apricot, soft on the palate. Easy drinking. Very short finish. — a month ago
Fruit forward, medium intensity, raspberries, plums, hint of earth, bockwurst!! Medium tannins. Very drinkable dinner wine. — 7 months ago
Incredible. Deep ruby with a little light on the edge to show its age. Cassis, black currant and blackberry, hint of smoke, cigar, slate and earth. Gripping tannins at first. Aerate for five minutes to smooth it out. Medium body and finish. Big but easy to drink. This can go for another ten years. Oh man. What an amazing treat. Thanks David. — a year ago

Stunning. Exactly like what I remembered the first time I smelled and tasted Windy Oaks. Nose: Cherry, raspberry, clove, cola, and fuchsia. It may have a couple more years or more to go, but it’s drinking beautifully right now. — 14 days ago
