Great fruit and purity — 4 months ago
15th anniversary wine. Crystalline purity mixed with vibrant energy and soft richness. Needs air as this is still quite young tasting, but utterly transfixing. Perhaps with 5 or 10 more years this would be, for my palate, a perfect wine, but it's still the tiniest bit rough around the edges. — 15 days ago
Light style see thru w/elegant profuse nose of all kinds of red fruit: cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, strawberry & rhubarb. Had a resiny, sappy, snappy quality along with a leafy herbaceousness - sassafras. Tasty but a bit watery for my palate & finish on the rustic side. There is purity here & I understand this is an entry level effort, so it delivers for what it is. — 15 days ago
A pale light yellow in the glass. Delicate small bubbles and nice creaminess. The nose is incredibly fresh with a touch of menthol complemented by pineapple. Nuttiness and baked bread along with pears. Tasted in the Grassl 1855 which showed more autolytic aromas after given time and air.
Another stellar champagne from the 2008 vintage. Blanc de blancs from Montgenost disgorged in 2019. Lowish dosage of 5 g/l but it doesn’t bring searing acidity, instead it delivers intensity, purity, and drama.
Pleasing and pleasant, there’s quite a bit to like here. The palate is focused and harmonious with complexity. Lively and intense on the tongue with plenty of citrus that recedes only for brioche bread to take the lead. Minerality on the long finish. Revisit this a few more years down the road and you’ll be happy. — 5 days ago
This was a little more shut down than past btls but with air revealing its greatness. Whole cluster showing lots of purity & elegance with notes of cherry, strawberry fruits, spice, rose petal & violet. Beautiful balance & length that needs more time but hard to resist now. — 7 days ago
Beautiful pinot - all spice and pure strawberry fruit. Fresh. Not much in the way of structure, but really quaffable. Reminds me of Sexton Applejack in red fruit purity. Buy. — 2 days ago
