Nose is a bit confused on open.
Palate: perfect early season cherry. Remarkable purity. Great acidic balance.
Let’s see where this goes.
This needs an hour. As it opens candied lilacs on the nose. Gorgeous. Exquisite.
Palate is silky. Memories of blackberries. Integrated lilacs. Amazing. Goes to show what time can do. This is Fucking burgundy.
If you want to pop and pour wait 3-5 years.

Yes. Just yes. Nose is super confectionary and has outrageous pure meyer lemon drop. Gorgeous minerality. Wonderful honeycomb with air. Elite elite elite. There is a primal aspect here that hasn’t been in previous vintages. Lanolin like. Palate has stunning depth, power, concentration and sapidity. Unreal tension. So so electric and the finish is epic. As usual Chassagne 1er cru quality. So juicy and complex and supernal balance and purity. So fresh and deep. Genius. Flavors are all tense green apples and a hint of delicate and sweet citrus. Has that roundness allied with tense acidity and periodic table of element levels of minerality. The balance is god tier. Genius. What one wants. As this airs the finesse just thrives. 9.5 — 9 months ago
Nose explodes with raspberries. Palate is good amount of acidity. Tart berry jam and some earth. Better with food. I like it and it is unique but not sure I’d buy again. — 4 months ago
Still embryonic, Mascarello’s 2010 Barolo (magnum) shows all the classicism it did when I first tasted it from cask many years ago. There is a feeling of crystalline purity and translucence here that is simply captivating. This is Nebbiolo and Barolo in all its glory in what has turned out to be an epic vintage for the estate. Time in the glass brings out scents of lavender, dried flowers and dark fruit, all wrapped together by huge swaths of tannin. Readers lucky enough to own the 2010 are in for a tremendous treat.
