2017: so far, 2017 seems to be a drink now vintage. So approachable already. Imagine a rose petal rolled between your palms…that’s how I perceive the nose, with tea and camphor…but imbued with a sweetness. — 7 days ago
Opened very slowly. Little sediment and only light staining on the cork. This was without signature for the first 30 minutes. Very slight cherry and tar notes. Pleasant but nothing much evident. After 2 hours of decanting it opened and was more resonant but it never exceeded “generally nice”. Nothing was amiss but nothing zoomed or was special. Finish was not particularly long. Tannins were mellow. Bouquet was modest but somewhat inviting. Color was pale with orange rim. This was an auction purchase. — a month ago
Ruby with a bouquet of fruit, spices, leather, oak and rose petals. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with notes of pepper, mint and cacao. Long finish, nice balance with fine soft tannins ending with earthy sweet notes. Just starting to drink now! Will continue to age. — 19 days ago

That great Barolo coloring pale at rim and darkening toward center. This was not focused on opening but got there after 2 hours. Truffle cherry earth and a full palate experience. Lots of weight to this wine and it stays heavy on the back end. Went very well with the homemade bucatini. — 13 days ago
