Leather, oak, olive, dark red fruit — 9 hours ago
Deep, powerful and intense with exceptional detail and layered complexity. Rich dark fruit, campfire smoke, black olive and violets come at you in waves. There is incredible depth and purity of fruit on the palate that’s backed by lively energy and lift. It’s still quite primary in its evolution with some powdery tannins and oak presenting themselves but it’s such a joy to drink and it’s so giving at this stage. The VV lives up to the hype. — 14 days ago
Baked raspberry, blackberry, pepper. Pen ink. Olive. Chewy. — 7 days ago
Really a very nice Syrah. Probably 1-2 years past its perfect drinking window but still very nice tonight with a minimal decant. Perfect pairing with old-school steak diane. Lots of olive, some dark fruit, some earth, nice lifting acid, quite well balanced, long finish. — 7 days ago
2013 is drinking beautifully, big red fruit, earth, and olive with long finish. Was told to wait on the 2014 but this one is ready now. — 6 hours ago
Wow. Just wow. Silly good. Mineral and floral blast from the get go. Black currant, olive, smoke, tea, woodsy red and black fruit profile. Violets and lilacs and Mediterranean herbs unfurl in the glass over hours, along with complex fruit and spices. So crystalline, elegant, seductive. Light, but minerals are through the roof. And the clarity! This producer works magic with French varieties in Sicily and this feels unexpectedly about terroir.
Tasted alongside a great bottle of Foillard Morgon, which this demolished. Amazing find from @Lyle Fass — 6 days ago
Would have guessed bordeaux blind. Peppery dark fruits, touch of olive, cedar. Holds its new oak well. This has at least another decade before hitting peak. — 3 days ago
