Craving some bubbles? This Champagne from Launois is a good option at a great price! 🥂🇫🇷
Aromas of bread and pastries blended with a mineral and creamy texture. It is a Blanc de Blancs.

A rather lively purple color with distinct ruby undertones. Big ripe blackberries and bacon on the nose. Raspberry, fresh herbs, and smoke are present with just enough funk to say hello. Slight touch of olives and earth.
100% Syrah from Cornas may not be what you call a summer sipper but this can withstand a slight chill. There’s plenty of power and character here with smooth tannins and slightly bitter acidity. Very masculine and bigger than I expected. Full bodied and quite generous.
Blue and black fruits dominate the palate, mostly with blueberry cobbler and black currant shining. Stewed plums and licorice combine nicely with the sage and fresh herbs. Pepper and smoke on the longish finish. Cornas almost always delivers and this is no exception. — 16 days ago
Biodynamic Croze, typical of the appellation. Ripe and juicy black fruits, notes of pears, peaches, a hint of wood. The body is supple, with a nice gourmet volume. Roundness, suppleness and beautiful freshness. The finish deploys fairly characteristic minty and peppery notes, violet. Great pleasure.
Grand plaisir. — 3 days ago
Very expressive aromas of red berries, spices and a floral side. Fresh, elegant with pure fruit and a nice medium bodied structure for this good Savigny.
Notes constantes, nez très expressif et aromatique avec du fruit rouge, épicé et floral. De la fraîcheur, du fruit pur, une certaine élégance accompagne une belle structure. 89-90 — 18 days ago
Confrérie Des Chevaliers du Tastevin Sous-Commanderie d'Albany; 20 September 2020 at New World Bistro, Albany, NY
Physically Distanced 🚧 but Socially Close 🤗 dinner, our first in +8mo. Following the reasonable NY State dining regulations, seated and masked. While a new experience, it was well worth it to see our core group again. — 5 days ago
2020 September. I approached this with some trepidation as the last bottle (opened a few years back) was hard, tart and weedy. I find some reactions to the 2004 vintage character overblown, but this wine had lived down to the stereotype. This bottle, though, was different - the greenness had melted into a rather open, fairly complex and rich wine which more than hinted at its origins. Dark berries, spice, game, etc. So perhaps that mean green thing was just a very long and very awkward middle phase after all. I have one more bottle, and it’ll be very interesting to see where this ends up in a several more years. I’d say the same for my other remaining 2004s. — 6 days ago
