Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 1995

Wow! Thanks to Steve K for sharing the retirement wine I got him. Decant for 3+ hours. Dark red color with ample bricking. Rustic, Bordeaux like on the nose and palate. Lost some depth but lovely texture and the age shows nicely. — a month ago

Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Cabernet Franc - Merlot Blend 2012

This wine is drinking beautifully with concentrated and ripe black cherry, creme de cassis, mulberry, plum, purple fig, violet, black licorice, anise, graphite, pencil shavings, sandalwood, vanilla bean, clove, leather, forest floor, and tobacco notes.

It has an excellent balance of primary, secondary and tertiary characteristics.

On the palate, it has a silky texture and fine-grained tannins. Acidity adds lift. High alcohol contributes to the full body and robust mouthfeel.

It’s made with 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is an unadulterated cab. Nothing added, nothing taken away. I used to buy every Lamborn vintage and decided to move on.

Sonoma Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 1995

After more than 25 years it can still use time. Still purple color with good cassis and a hint of bell pepper and ample tannin, it rounded out some with air. — 22 days ago

Estate Bottled Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

#AgedWineTuesday

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.

Beautiful nose of black fruits, cedar, chocolates, herbs, tobacco leaf and cola.

Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, mint, vanilla, spices, licorice, espresso, cola, light herbs, eucalyptus, light earth, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 20 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Showing a gorgeous nose, that I kept on smelling for a while.

Feels much younger than it actually is, complex and well balanced.

Good right out of the bottle with grippy tannins, and better after a couple of hours in the decanter.

Peaking now and good by itself or with food. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

A gorgeous wine. I love these older Napa Bordeaux blends.

A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. Aged in new American oak barrels for 22 months. Unfiltered and unfined.

13.8% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

$225.
