The 2021 Weissburgunder Pinot Bianco wafts up with herbs and lime zest before settling on crushed green apples and ginger. Soft-textured with a reverberation of citrus tension that nicely contrasts its inner sweetness. It leaves a subtle staining of minerals through the long and juicy finale. $15.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2022) — 2 months ago
This wine throws parties that go late but not too late full of characters but polite ones and also invites you to dinners with other intellectuals that go late and are rich but get deep and down to life on earth. Which is to say it hints at decadence but is cool with just having like, a real deep conversation on literature. Full of blackberry and cassis fruit but with baking spices and something that says mud delicious mud. Vibing with tannins that aren’t knitted in and a certain element that satisfies but leaves you unsatisfied so you take another sip and it may be on purpose to remind you you are mortal. — 9 months ago
My first time trying one of the hotly anticipated 2019s from J. J. Prüm, this being the Kabinett from the Himmelreich vineyard in Graach. 2019 was a hot vintage which benefited from cooler temperatures and rain towards harvest in September, tempering already high sugars in many of the grapes. A degree of the crop had been lost both through hail in Spring and sunburn in August. Nevertheless, 2019 has been lauded as the vintage of the century, drawing comparisons to 2016 Bordeaux, among others - and is especially successful at the drier end of the classification. So, how does this wine from the Kabinett Prädikat fare?
It’s a featherlight Riesling, often the mark of this estate in any given vintage, but while airy and graceful, there’s tremendous intensity to the palate, great persistence and a very long finish. A touch reticent at this stage, but that doesn’t fully hinder the aromas of orange marmalade, white peach, blueberry, juniper and tomato vine,
Aaand my notes ended there - perhaps I was enjoying it too much 🫠😅 either way, this was a knockout Kabi! — 16 days ago
Attack on freshness and minerality. Body enriched with a beautiful material, final carried by a high-class breeding, with hazelnut notes rarely tasted. To be tasted in 5 years, great potential.
Attaque sur la fraîcheur et la minéralité. Corps étoffé d’une belle matière, finale porté par un élevage de grande classe, aux notes noisettes rarement goûtées. À regoûter dans 5 ans, gros potentiel. — 19 days ago
Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of berry fruits, spice and floral notes, a blend of 37% Touriga Nacional, 42% Touriga Franca and various others. On the palate intense flavors of plum, licorice and blackberry flavors, well balanced with lively acidity, full-bodied, big and well structured. Long finish, smooth tannins ending with cacao and rich sweet fruit tones. Very nice! Keep this in the cellar for another decade! — 4 months ago

WOW!! Incredibly smooth, well refined and like an angel gently caressing your tongue with a whisk of mature red fruit, a slight bit of jam and a clean, finish. A satisfying mouth feel all the way through, and lingering notes of light smoke, wood and vanilla. I wish I had picked up a second bottle! — 10 days ago
