Jonata Winery

La Sangre de Jonata Ballard Canyon Syrah 2013

Must buy & age
Parker 96 review

Cofermented with 2% Viognier, the Syrah-dominated 2013 La Sangre de Jonata is another terrific 2013 from winemaker Matt Dees that checks in near the top of the vintage. Full-bodied, concentrated and with bright acidity, it reveals classic notes of black fruits, pepper, violets, spring flowers and tons of minerality. It will be better in another 2-3 years and keep for decade or more after that.

So savory. Loads of bright red fruit and umami. Strawberry and forest floor. This was a perfect pairing for ahi tuna steak and bok choy. Santa Barbara is producing some outstanding wines. — 20 hours ago

Subida Santa Ynez Valley Tocai Friulano 2009

A deep golden straw color. Aromas of apricot and white peach. Give your glass a little time and swirling to introduce the aroma. The texture is rich, clean and smooth. On the nose (after time) are hints of almond and sickle pear. There is a suggestion of acidity which provides a balance. Excellent. — 16 days ago
