Margerum

Sybarite Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Outstanding value. This is acidic and tropical. Huge amount of flavor with some stone fruit, tart apple, not much grass at all, but well balanced. Margerum’s wines were some of my first in exploring SB terroir and this one reminds me of the excellence he had at wine cask. — 19 days ago

Hint of smoke….bitter(ish) fruit that works well…I enjoy the fact that this is a wine to drink at leisure.

Crown Point

Estate Selection Red Bordeaux Blend

Exquisite. Refined. The 2014 Estate Selection Is not as bold but balanced. Dark red fruit delicately balanced with slight smoke. Paired with grilled steak and Brussels sprouts. — 10 days ago

Cobolorum Kick On Ranch Petillant Naturel Santa Barbara County Riesling 2020

2020 was the first disgorged vintage. So no explosions with this one 😅. Citrus and ripe pear. Not the zippy acid of as past vintages, a bit rounder maybe a little sweeter compared to past vintages (this is not a sweet wine though.) — 6 days ago

Los Alamos Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

This way over-delivers. Cranberry, black tea, bergamot, tobacco, camphor, dried mushrooms and a distinct loaminess. Perhaps a tad austere for the average bloke, with some elevated VA to boot. But this is a rather serious Pinot Noir with plenty of potential for extensive aging. I’m getting decidedly Old World vibes. — a month ago
