Frédéric Cossard

Cuvée Frédéric Emile Alsace Riesling 2010

Striking out recently. Lots of minerality, but nose is weak. No fruit or characteristic secondary aromas. A bit of confectionary quality, cotton candy and fondant, on day two but still subtle. Decent concentration, medium acid, and nice satiny texture.

Initially believed this was in a dumb phase, but picking up TCA on repeat tasting.

@romo this isn’t a style issue. @Tom Casagrande picking up some mild TCA on second tasting... I wouldn’t write this off.

Les Amoureuses Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Mugnier Amoureuses 2010 took some time to come out of its shell but when it did it showed how special the vineyard is. It’s so sensual and refined and seduces with its aromatics and multidimensional complexity. There is finesse and plenty of structure, surely to be a star as it continues to develop. A beautiful bottle. — 23 days ago

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Incredibly elegant wine with all there is to please. Asian spices, flowers, dark cherries, and a touch of cinnamon. Complex and medium bodied, excellent now but no rush. — a month ago

L'Ouverture 1er Cru Brut Champagne Pinot Noir

First Savart. Superb at its price-point. Round, slightly crushed apples, full mousse. Anyone you’ll present this will recognize this as something special without being needlessly complex. All foudres without any of the heaviness. Great lunch wine. — 15 days ago

Agree, excellent and unfortunately people are starting to know it.

Les Fuées Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2009

This had rich ripe cherry, earth tones with a good core of mineral, Leroy like spices & violet showing lots of depth with a long finish. Sadly my last btl of 6 that were all stellar — a month ago
