Dry tannins starting to resolve with age. Herbs Provençal. Black figs. Baked blackberry. — 15 days ago
A little young to be drinking now but still a great wine, deep fruit concentration, very dry, lot of tanin — 2 months ago
Tight. Did open up eventually. — 20 days ago
2018 vintage. According to the notes, it’s been 1.5 years since last tasting. I call bs. That roughly 5% Petit Verdot phenomenally prepares the frontal assault. THE Bordeaux (along with Cos) when looking to initiate a BDX virgin. Enough stuffing for the most jaded BDX drinker and soft enuff for those without the tattoos and scars of the BDX wars. Will go 10-12 years easily…past that…??? Plushy and giving. When the lights go on and the curtain goes up, this performs-and how. 11.12.23. — 20 days ago
Superb showing, mamy years ahead of it but the Viallière tannin has softened considerably. Rich and dense as expected given the vintage yet very regal and elegantly textured. Soaked black cherry and plum, hung meat, cracked pepper, leather, wilted violet, juniper and mint, pastille and damp earth. Lovely iron and woodsy notes accompanying. WC bringing frshness, focus, and a beautiful spice component. Perfect with bœuf bourguignon. — a month ago
Surprisingly good for a second wine in an tricky vintage. Gorgeous nose has cedar, roasted peanuts, cassis, purple florals, warm gravel. Nose whack of flavor up front, then lightens up as the palate progresses. A bit of gritty tannin in the finish. Would I prefer a bit more concentration and length? Sure. But this is quite nice. — 2 months ago
