Ambrosan Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2009

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Strong nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, dried figs, wet leaves, raisins, licorice, spices, tobacco leaf, earth, herbs and peppercorn.

Full bodied with medium acidity, bold and spicy.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, raisins, dried figs, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco leaf, chocolates, coffee and mocha.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a great Amarone. Nicely aged, big and tasty. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime. I did not decant it, but only let it open in the bottle.

This 12 year old from an excellent vintage is peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Delicious by itself or with food. I paired it with a delicious pizza with prosciutto and fresh arugula.

A blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Croatina. Aged in French oak barrels for 30 months. 800 cases produced.

16% alcohol by volume.

Sine Qua Non

Esto No Es Una Salida Grenache 2009

It was a Sine Qua Non night (which are always my favorites!). This was surprisingly tight given its age. Came back to it a couple of days later and it was SO MUCH better. If you have this in your cellar and are planning to pull it soon, I’d suggest a 4-hour decant to let it open up. It’ll be fantastic! — 2 days ago

It mingles with light reds easily, but has the fun part of a fresh rose with the complexity that unfolds over and over
The elegance is somewhere between a Volnay and a Barolo
Cola, raspberries, sweet tobacco, white choc, salted caramel, mou, forest floor, mushroom and slightly grillée
Nearly fizzy when opened
It was worth the wait

@Travis W somewhere here in Melbourne i have seen Valentini Trebbiano and Montepulciano (very expansive, but absolutely mind blowing), but never the cerasuolo which IMO is one of the best rose ever🤫

We must be getting old as my homeboy & I remembered when this was 20$— now it’s north of 79$. First, that incredible, shimmering copper color, as if a siren call to the rewards that await. So many layers that never seem to stop: sherry- like on nose, with high pitched iodine, but deeper & round on the palate. Hints of bergamot, cinnamon bark, oyster mushroom, clove, faded citrus fruit. So so alive. What a treat. Part 2 with slow roasted grapefruit chicken, roasted eggplant with yogurt sauce & the early innings of a another wild Mets win. — 4 days ago

The colour is dramatically golden, but is amazingly bright
I thought that perhaps it was gone but the wine has found a balance
It's still fresh with a nectarine fruit
After that it starts with white nougat, hay, lanolin, ferns, lemongrass, ginger, sesame, nearly laksa-like scent.
I admit this could have been a hole in the water, but the wine is singing
Perhaps not extremely long, but unique

Deep, intense, dense, blue/black fruits. Really have to search for non fruit flavors, with faint baking spice and red flower peeking thru.

Balanced, full bodied, medium pleasant acidity. Integrated tannin

As primary as it is I'm not sure further age would benefit it...highly enjoyable right now

Les Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir Meursault Chardonnay 2009

Tilts more toward vintage than producer.
A ripe nose of peach, pears and flowers . In the mouth a wine that most producers would be very happy to produce but for Roulot this was a little more tropical fruit than one would expect. Fruit with weight but not flabby , very balanced with acid one level down . Nice finish with no alcohol heat.

Wow, this is amazing for a 12-year old Cotes du Rhone. Nose almost reminds me of mature Bordeaux (good shit, not regular Bordeaux). Cedar, earthy, dark spicy blackberry, iodine. Totally resolved and balanced in the mouth, with a remarkable fruit presence for a 12-yr. old. Tannins still there but super soft. Good acids. Just wow. — 5 days ago

Delicious and drinking great.

Savory initially with a hint of barnyard. Revealing red and black cherry aromas with dense ripe blackberry. The cooling minty/eucalyptus notes definitely there. Damp tobacco and faint baking spice

Deep, full bodied on the palate with medium acid to hold it up and a lengthy cool fruit/spice finish.
