Château Margaux

Château Brane-Cantenac

Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

First sip after opening was incredibly watery and light.

Took about 3 hours to open up and show. And then it was exactly as expected with great depth and fruit. Solid backbone and balance.

Baron De Taste

Réserve Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Nose: pepper, raspberry, cherry, light fragrant wood, orange peel, slight clove.

Taste: simple, but elegant and well made. Medium weight. Bitter olive, restrained tannins that linger and turn into green herbs (oregano? And others). Restrained sweet vanilla (almost like banana). The red fruit is in the background. This is good. 90.

We enjoyed this from Margaux. It was very smooth and paired well with our Italian food. #Ilteatroquebeccity — 2 days ago

Château d'Issan

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

Tight at first but the wine opened up quickly and gloriously! Tar and graphite on the palette to complement forest floor on the nose. This vintage continues to be a winner! — 7 days ago

La Dame de Malescot

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Second wine of Cru Classé Malescot Saint-Exupéry. Charming nose with ripe black cherries, raspberry jam and some floral hints. This medium-bodied, fruit-driven Margaux is drinking well already with silky tannin and good length. Not very complex, but a very charming wine indeed. Abv. 14%. Good value at less than half the price of the Grand Vin, even if I would rate the less expensive La Tour de Bessan (tasted alongside) higher. — 4 days ago

One of the great vintages for Palmer only exceeded by their 61 that is elegant, silky showing power with notes of black, red fruits, plum, graphite, leather, spice & tobacco .Just starting to hit its stride with decades ahead — 7 days ago

Sichel

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Silky smoothy on the front half with medium tannins on the finish. Earth tones throughout and went well with our mushroom appetizer. For those of you who haven’t tried it - go to Bird & Jim restaurant in Estes Park. Great wine list and food. — 21 days ago
