Opened this is a Left Bank v Right Bank taste-off against a 2015 Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot and this one won handily. Smooth and balanced, with a long finish. Probably even better in a year or two, if I can wait that long to drink the second bottle!

A little closed but nice. Medium body with leaner dark fruits, dark barrel toast, dry & decayed flowers, black tea, coffee grounds. This one needs time over the Brane & Brown

Located on a beautiful 300 hectare estate, the Giscours vineyard is located in the famous Margaux appellation and eventually included as a Third Growth in the 1855 classification. The young palate on this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon: 70%; Merlot: 20%; and Petit Verdot: 10%; shows ripe berry fruits with pronounced toasty oak notes. The tannins are smooth but needs development. The lingering complex finish shows potential over the next decade. Drink the 2012 if you want something now.

We did not have much time to decant this bottle as the restaurant was closing. Despite this, the palate was delicious.

Felt bad that we opened this bottle. While it had the start of something great, not going to shine bright for at least another few years.

Great black fruit esp raspberry. A little thin, medium bodied and high on tannins. Needs at least 2 more years cellaring. Could be great then.
