Perfumed nose of rose petals and fresh cranberries. A bit rounder than most Dolcetto wines with red fruit offset by typical dusty notes. Slightly tannic and herbaceous on the finish (but in a good way). About as good as Dolcetto gets. — 19 days ago
Praleum w SL. Disappointing. Remained closed throughout the night. Left 1/4 of the magnum bottle on the table. Suspect not ready to drink.
The profound 1996 Barolo Capalot Riserva boasts a dense, ruby/purple color, and a pure nose of black cherries, raspberries, and blackberries. Layered and multidimensional, with a sweet mid-palate and a blockbuster finish, this is an immense, full throttle Barolo that should age effortlessly for 15-25 years. Impressive!

Quick taste; deep brilliant ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of ripe blackberry, juicy plum, pomegranate, baking spices, cedar; dry, medium plus acid, medium plus firm tannins, high alcohol, full body, flavors of clear bright berries and plums; flavors well balanced — 3 months ago

A cherry nose with tree bark... On the palate, the cherry is very concentrated with Cola present too... Graphite... A bit of cedar... Not much acidity... Flavors that imply juiciness, but also very dry... Tannins are very soft... Medium finish... Blind, you may have trouble determining if this is young or older... Intriguing... Complex... — 4 days ago

Beautiful. You can taste when a winemaker steps back and allows the fruit to speak for itself. Pure core. Cherry, floral, seemless structure, and perfect acidity. Crazy long finish. Tasted after an hour decant. This wine is great now but I can only imagine how it will evolve ten years from now. Drink or hold or mail to me. — 3 days ago
