Domaine Vacheron

Les Romains Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Popped and poured; enjoyed with dinner over the course of an hour. The 2018 “Les Romains” pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with “leesy” notes bright lemon-lime citrus with some melon and a mix of stony and ferrous minerals. One the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and satisfying; definitely the favorite at the table tonight. Lovely with a traditional seafood boil. Drink now through 2035. — 9 days ago

@Ely Cohn I can’t remember if you had told me that already but that’s awesome. They would most certainly be on my list if Loire stops

Ridge Vineyards

Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend 2022

Zach D
9.1

On the nose black raspberry, black cherry, Asian five spice, some black tea. Good dose of acidity for a zin based wine; some tannin as well. More black raspberry, black cherry, hint of smoke, blackberry and spice on the palate. I don’t usually go for this type of wine (higher etoh, somewhat warmer and riper style) however given the old vine character, Ridge is a producer I do come back to every once and a while. Did hit the spot on a cold night. — 10 days ago

Première Cuvée Extra-Brut Champagne Blend

Medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral and yeasty notes, mostly Chardonnay. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with lemon citrus zest and floral notes. Fine bubbles, light mousse, medium finish ending with fruit, citrus and yeasty biscuit character. Pair this with shrimp cocktail. — 7 days ago

Domaine Bernard Moreau & Fils

Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay 2017

Had a bottle 66 weeks ago - this is my last bottle. White florals. The palate is delicate, restrained and polished. After a while sweet fruit but undeniably more citrus than stone fruit. The finish shows cleansing citric acid with a touch of salinity. The same notes the following night. 2017 - a good year for white burgundy. — 9 days ago

Velenosi

Ludi Offida Montepulciano Blend 2019

Dense, powerful, rich, deep colored. Montepulciano is really denced by merlot. The result - very concentrated color and palate. Like denced montepulciano. Rounded, medium bodied, high tanins. Really good.

Clear montepulciano by nose, dense dark fruits, tobacco, balsamic vinegar at palate

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

2019 vintage. Medium body. Plenty of frontal palate richness. Middle currently MIA. Finish is loamy and plush with some espresso bean. Wanted a bit more dark plum structure but wasn’t forthcoming. Maybe in a few. 01.29.25. — 7 days ago

Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Pale yellow with pleasing aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, adding in spice and some biscuit notes. On the palate complex palate of flavors, fresh fruit, pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, peaches and Asian pears. Slight earthiness with a smooth and creamy well balanced finish ending with a gentle yeasty character. Very nice! Consistent quality! Will age well! — 8 days ago

Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga

Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2020

Dried herbs, dried cherry, some other berries, a bit of leather, no doubt about this one being a Chianti. Classic and so good. Amazing with food. — 10 days ago
