This is a delicious Grenache from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Fresh tasting and already drinking beautifully, even though it is very young. Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and engaging.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years. Showing good potential to become a 94+ point wine.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.
A blend of 86% Grenache from old vines with 7% Syrah and 7% Mourvèdre. Aged in large French oak barrels.
15.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

2003 vintage. Opened and decanted without issues or concerns. Used a Durand to open and cork was in great shape. Tasted after 30 minutes. The usual light-medium body. Plenty of polish at the 20+ year marker with unanticipated, ruff splash of chunkiness on the finish. Approx 4-5 years away from the absolute, top of the bell curve now but, given the pedigree, could possibly absorb that timescape another 5-spot and I wouldn't argue. Drink now or later. Either or. Ain't gonna disappoint unless you swing exclusively on Napa mountain fruit vines. 7.1.26. — 7 days ago
Concur with VM: “Wild strawberries, roses, lavender and hints of flowery underbrush form a vividly fruity yet earthy bouquet as the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino opens in the glass. This is round, nearly juicy in character, with ripe red and black berries that cascade across a core of silty minerality. It leaves only a light coating of tannin while tapering off with a flourish of inner sweetness and floral tones, as nuances of licorice slowly fade. This may not be a classic Brunello from Altesino, but I can't argue with how incredibly delicious it is.” — 2 hours ago
Presented to me double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine pours a pale straw color with medium viscosity: no signs of sediment/particles or gas. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of green apple, white tree flowers, a hint of freshly struck match, lemon curd and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and full of minerals with a creamy texture. The alcohol is medium.
Initial conclusions: this could be Chardonnay, Albariño or Pinot Gris from France, the US, Spain or Italy. This is giving me Chardonnay vibes and while my first thought was Chablis, this has the markers of a Sashi Morman wine. So I’m going with that. Final conclusion: this is Chardonnay, from the US, Oregon, Eola-Amity Hills, 2022 and because I said it, Evening Land. LOL! Do I get credit for calling the winemaker and not the winery? Scoring points for sure. Tasty stuff in the style I’ve come to expect. Drink now through 2032. — 2 days ago
2020 vintage. From dedicated parcels, Marquis de Calon Ségur is very different from the grand vin, with Merlot dominating the blend. Immediately expressive, with abundant red fruit and flowers. Impeccable purity of fruit and a silky mouthfeel. Good value at one third of the price of the grand vin. Abv. 14,5%. — 3 days ago
1hr+ decant. Got better over the course of three hours. See previous notes. Had a little Spanish influence to it. This rocks! — 4 days ago
2020. One of three Rieslings we had with dinner tonight at The Oven Cellar. Dönnhoff is my daughter’s favorite producer, but she’s never had a GG wine. This wine had the creamiest texture and great orchard fruit flavors. Paired great with the all the dishes we had. — 6 days ago
