Big Table Farm

Wirtz Vineyard Pinot Gris 2018

The 2018 Big Table Farm Pinot Gris is sourced from fruit grown by eminent winemaker Brian O’Donnell of Belle Pente. The Pinot Gris was fermented on the skins, giving off a brilliant salmon color. Texturally elegant, the wine shows an exotic edge with ripe red raspberry and kumquat zest that collide with minerals and wild mushroom tones on the palate. Complex and highly unique, this one of a kind Pinot Gris is simply brilliant in its youth and will evolve well for a decade, picking up lovely tertiary aromatics and flavors as it ages. Pondering Ptolemy Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Like many 09s, arching over the penult of its peak. Some character sacrificed, but still alive and welcome. — 4 days ago

Willamette Valley Chardonnay 2014

Citrus and orchard fruits. Prior vintages to me seemed a little more complex and put together after 5 years or so. Good but not as previous years. — 11 days ago

Artisanal Wine Cellars

Adams Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007

Sleeper of the long weekend. Blew our minds and atrial constructs. This wine still had years to go which delights one due to the fact it is of a misunderstood vintage. The 07 s are great with high acidity and modest alcohol levels. This wine had these sought after attributes and more. The palette was complete and the overall fruit was prominent and divine. This winemaker scores tremendously on this one!!!! — 4 days ago

Willamette Valley Pinot Blanc 2014

Second bottle. White floral nose, light citrus, orchard fruit and lactic flavors, mineral finish. Mostly dry, enough acidity but not too much. Good to sip on an evening with college football on TV and a thunderstorm outside. — 10 days ago

Iris Vineyards

Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2017

Good Pinot Gris in typical Oregon fashion. Light, crisp, fruit forward with stone fruit and lemon zest. Nice find. Hadn’t had this vineyard before. Located in Cottage Grove, Oregon (near Eugene), fruit sources from Chalice Estate and Confluence Vineyards. Dijon clones. 4500 cases produced. The 2016 vintage yielded a 91 score from Wine Enthusiast and an Editor’s Choice for wine. No doubt the 2017 will as well. Seek this one out to try. It’s amazing QPR, winery retail is $16. I picked it up for less at a Portland wine shop. — 14 days ago

Terroir Series 10th Anniversary Vintage Willamette Valley Chardonnay 2015

Unique and a definite object of interest at the table over dinner. Reminded me of the estate Riesling I had by them not too long ago; very off the grid. — 5 days ago

Rose Of Pinot Gris 2016

In a wicked good spot tonight, been almost two years since our last bottle. Raspberry notes are screaming along with strawberry and a brief squeeze of lime.
Last bottle, always the best one, of course 🤷‍♂️👍
