The wine I have opened tonight is the 2015 Anne Amie Vineyard Two Estates Pinot Noir. A barrel selection chosen of their two estates, 67% Twelve Oaks and 33% Anne Amie vineyards.
On the nose I am getting black cherry, black raspberry, cinnamon, spice, incense, mint and smokey oak.
On the palate there is black cherry, black plum, cola, clove, backing spice and oak.
The wine is medium bodied with medium + mouthwatering acidity and medium to + grainy tannins that lead to a medium to long dark fruit smokey oak finish. We are headed into another weekend so please be safe and enjoy yourselves with your wine of choice. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 14 days ago
In my experience gifting wine in the corporate world is quite common. Fortunately for me one of our managing directors at the office knows I’m “the wine guy” so, whenever I see her name pop up on my caller-ID, I know I’ve got a bottle coming my way. Sure enough a client sent her this beautiful Chardonnay from Domaine Serene and boy, I’m really liking it. Bright minerality, lemon custard, lemon meringue, sugary fondant, saline, tangerine, caramelized sugar and a whiff of smoke. Pretty mouthfeel with a nice viscosity that gives it some heft, yet there’s a good amount of balance here that exudes a youthful, eager poise bent on growth. — a day ago
Yellow-white, excellent clarity. White floral and lemon peel notes in nose. Candied lemon fruit flavor, slight trace of lemon fruit sweetness with a core of lemon pulp tartness, good acidity overall, mineral finish with lingering lemon fruit flavor. Really intriguing varietal, well made wine. Five variations on fresh lemon expression in a white table wine? It could be, impressionistically, at least. — 14 days ago
Pale golden yellow. Tropical fruit, pine and wood spice notes in nose. Pine and spice with tropical fruit finish in mouth, semi dry, decent acidity. Mild skin astringency with minerality in aftertaste. Small producer worth seeking out. This bottle was a gift from my brother. I can’t find anything on the internet about this vintage though. A pretty color of ruby, with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.
Fruity nose of blueberries, cherries, currants, oak, mashrooms, wet leaves, herbs, black pepper and spices.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with cherries, strawberries, currants, light alcohol, light barnyard, spices, wood, chocolates and light earth.
Long finish with soft tannins and cherries.
This is a very enjoyable Pinot Noir from Oregon. Easy drinking with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel. Well balanced and tasty.
Very enjoyable by itself, as a sipping wine, or with food.
Wine Spectator 91 points.
This is one that will age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
A Delicious Pinot Noir, and that doesn't come easy for me 😉
I paired it with hard cheeses and Italian cured meats.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
