Delicate red fruits (cranberry , currant , tart cherry) complemented by blood orange, soil tones, and liquid minerals. The palate is fresh and long with lots of dry extract . This rose is so elegant and refined . One of the best young Bolle rose I have tasted. — 3 days ago
1990 vintage. Orangy-golden hue. Superripe Red delicious apple, dried cantaloupe and apricots in both the nose and flavors. Still good effervescence. Mature fruit components threaten to close down and overwhelm the finish but what acidity remains just manages to stabilize the experience. Don't know how much longer this Champagne can continue to pull off this delicate balancing act but mega-kudos. Fantastic trip in the ole time machine. — 12 days ago
A standard that still brings excitement and drama. Medium gold color with plenty of small bubbles. The nose is wonderful with a ton of apples and baked bread. Nice floral accents to match the dried cherry and blackberry notes. Really, really nice.
Composed of the three traditional grapes and injected with a nice bit of reserve wines, this is just one of those bottles that’s always right on time. Powerful, muscular, masculine, and sleek. Lovely fruit on the tongue and an elegant mouthfeel. A classic for a reason. — 17 days ago
Columbia County 3.0: Apparently I’m one wine away from my 2,000th reviewed on Delectable, which is probably an odd milestone I would not have even conceived of when starting. What better way to celebrate than with the queen bee of wines (?), royalty w grace : an utterly intense & laser- focused Sauternes. Apricot & pineapple perfumed to the point of raising the rafters. Floods the mouth w quince, candied apricot & pineapple. This may be only its half life, & that’s understating it. — 3 days ago
The “second wine” from one of Alsace’s greatest winemaking dynasties. Unlike the single-vineyard Clos Ste. Hune, this is a blend from two (adjacent) sites in the Geisberg (sandstone) and Osterberg (limestone) grand crus in Ribeauvillé. Complex bouquet with aromas of yellow apple, candied citrus, beeswax, crushed stone and a hint of petrol. Full-bodied, rich, quite concentrated with flavors of citrus (lemon) and notes of white fruit. Pure, precise, intense, great acidity — 2 days ago
Nice young yellow canary color. Heavy in the glass. Tropical nose with notes of sea breeze, lemon, kiwi, white stones and tan spice. Glycerol and rich in the mouth. California like, but with nice Chablis nuances. I wonder how this will evolve over next 10 years. Maybe like 92’s? — 8 days ago
