Wow what a nose. Huge spice and violets and a feral quality. Glorious and expressive. Stunning. 9.6 nose. Smells ready to go which is in line with 2017 Walter. Also some dead leaves and tree bark. Palate is ripe, supple and juicy with great energy and freshness. Delicate yet intensely flavorful. So succulent. Red cherries galore and some cassis as well. Drink now with aplomb — a month ago
Spicy and floral, the 2021 Chardonnay X Novo Vineyard blossoms in the glass with a complex, mineral-tinged blend of ginger-spiked apples, lime zests and sage. Luxuriously silky and soothing with medium-weight textures and depths of ripe pit fruits, this excels with tenacity and brisk acids that lift the experience despite the sheer intensity within. A burst of tart citrus saturates the palate, puckering the cheeks and leaving a salty staining as a subtle tannic tug adds perfect punctuation. While powerful and broad, the balance here is spellbinding. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2024)

From 100% Wente clones that get max hang time, large and tiny berries packed together, pale lemon with subtle aromas of citrus and stone fruits. On the palate flavors of apple, lemon and lime flavors, crisp acidity, long finish ending with rich mineral character. Perfect now! — 5 days ago
Excellent chard, beautiful golden color, fragrant pear on the nose, good full bodied follow through on the palate. Only demerit is the slightest acidic twist at the back end. But that mellows after breathing awhile. Don’t overchill — 2 months ago
First time with WS in a while. Almost a pogeba. Really liking it so far. Lemon curd, acidity and tension. Excited to try the same in a few years. — 9 days ago
