Valle De La Gruya, Baja California

Copa Tinta

Selección Blanca Trasiego Viognier Blend 2019

Pale lemon; medium plus intensity aromas of lemon, firm peaches, yellow plum, lime zest, intense florals as it opens, underlying creaminess; dry, medium plus acid, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium plus finish, flavors more tart than aromas (very little of the florals on palate), well balanced, very good — 17 days ago

Half of each varietal is aged 12 months in French oak and the other half in American oak - very interesting. Rich and delicious!!! 🇲🇽 — 9 days ago

Monte Xanic

Gran Ricardo Valle de Guadalupe Red Blend 2018

Excellente!! When in Mexico, must have MX wines! For those who haven’t experienced some of the MX wines, please try them. Dark red fruit with berry Intensity that brings up jam and simply juicy deliciousness to mind. Slight spice, pepper and cinnamon on the nose and a medium long finish. Yes, this is a bit young and I would expect this to get even better with a few years on the rack. — 18 days ago

Duetto is one of my favorites. So is Megacero.

Santo Tomas Duetto is usually what I buy to bring back home! Excellent bottle as is their Unico

Terra Don Luis Selección Reservada Tinto 2017

Great bold flavor. Nice rich color. Good tannins with black cherry notes. It’s a very flavorful wine that’s a good tooth stainer. Feel certain you’ll like it if you like a nice big wine. This was $45 at the restaurant and a good buy — 22 days ago

Casa Magoni

Manaz Valle de Guadalupe Fiano Viognier 2016

80/20 blend of Viognier and Fiano. Yellow or straw in color, excellent clarity. White floral and lemon notes in nose with a hint of orchard fruit. Light crispness, rounded mouthfeel, nice but subdued floral and fruit flavors with more structure than, well, “fruit forwardness”. There’s a hint of honey flavor in there that builds over time; credit the Fiano varietal. Well made but not going to impress the Cali “fruit bomb” crowd. A clean fresh tasting white table wine, white flowers and honey in a refined presentation. — 23 days ago
