One of Opus’ finest vintage. Ripe blackberries, violets and cocoa. Velvety smooth with finesse and elegance.

The cruise continues! Night eight aboard the Allure of the Seas and 50% off all wines. This was still way too young and we left it for the next day.

Deep ruby red. Dusty nose with a touch of dirty cellar. Needed to air out and out came the layers with cherries, cassis, forest floor, spices and oddly a touch vegetal. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Tons of structure and balanced acidity with layers of dark cocoa, red cherries and earthy undertones. Long finish and this definitely needs some time. Drink from 2019 till 2039.

More masculine than the '12. Blended red and black fruits with burnt vanilla spicy oak with a slight finish of mocha.

Not integrated yet. Flavors are expressive red and black fruits with eucalyptus and fresh horse saddle.

Notes of blue and black berries and velvety soft edges - this will be enjoyed for many years to come!

I'm gonna put up a new wine that I enjoy with dinner everyday as a part of my delectable winevent calendar. Are you ready?

Cassis, Blackberry, cigar box, sandalwood. Dense and tight but showing nice structure. Tuck this away for a few years.

Updating some tasting notes after my trip to Napa a few weeks back.

Got one of these cellared away (and rightfully so). This wine is already gorgeous in body and unbelievably balanced tannins, but it needs some time to develop. Expect it to be phenomenal in a few years.
