Served at The Bird as well during the meal. I had luck with these wines in the past. I think Termes is a better short term drinker than Numanthia is a long term holder. Lots of roasted black fruit on the front and middle, this one just doesn't have the finish or structure. Could this be in an odd place? Surely. Not really decanted for that long before serving, but the Sequel dispatched of it rather quickly both in flavor and complexity. Vega Sicilia started purchasing vineyards in Toro in 1997 but didn’t release Pintia until ‘01 after perfecting their style. 100% Tinta de Toro, thick-skinned clone of Tempranillo, beautiful color, complex aromas of fruit & spice. Aged for 13 months in French & American oak. Intense aromas, notes of cedar & berry fruits. On the palate intense fresh dark berry fruit flavors with oak notes, well balanced with acidity. This is a truly great wine. You do not have to put your nose in the glass.... it is there and it stays there. WoW. Red fruit, tar, leather, black fruit, sandelwood. Close to perfection for me.

A very limited production Ribera del Duero of 6,990 bottles in a great year @ €180-€265 that should age into a Vega Sicilia quality wine as a very intense big wine 😈 but well balanced 😉 I’d drink in 10-15 years but superb already 😁
