Terre Siciliane Frappato 2023

9.0

That’s seriously delicious. Fresh, vibrant, balanced. Wild red fruits with a hint of herbal, basil? Thyme? Really lovely. Light-med body, almost glou-glou - could def take a slight chill. Really lovely from Cos. — 14 days ago

Passopisciaro

Passorosso Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese 2022

Nose: blackberry flowers. Intense.

Palate: slightly tart blackberry fruit. Clean. Bright. A very well made simple wine. Grippy.

Long finish.

Poggio San Polo

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

The 2013 vintage enjoyed Classic cool weather, and the 2013 San Polo reveals what old time Brunellos were like prior to global warming. It is medium bodied, colorful, with persistent fruit and underbrush aromatics; flavorsome, balanced, crisp and energetic with refined tannins. Lovely wine. — 12 hours ago

Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Poggio al Vento Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

One of the best Italian wines I've had recently. Deep, juicy cherry and plum notes dominate. Well-rounded, elegant. Great with some chocolate or a lighter pasta dish with lean meat. — a month ago

Munjebel Terre Siciliane Bianco Carricante Blend

First time and quite an acquired taste. Long finish, profound straw color. Ginger, honey, stone fruit with a good amount of reduction. Good salinity. Decided to like it but not sure yet. Rare and happy to get 3 bottles. Leon and sons rock. — 3 days ago

Poggio Antico

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Nice but was hoping for a bit more refinement and balance. 15% which comes through only a bit. Still some rusticity. But the overall quality of the fruit is high. Would give it a couple more years at least. — a month ago
