Medium ruby garnet , garnet terracotta rim. Slightly sweet , roasted nose, with chestnut some sous bois , grafite , slight seaside hints. After a while a touch more herbal. On the palate quite stern dark fruits , mineral , grafite notes , quite dry tannin and ok balanced acidity . Reasonable length and sous bois , grafite tinged finish . This is still quite young though its appearance is slightly more advanced than the 1988 . Needs a decant and held up well over the 5 hours we had it open . Drink now and over the next 5-10 years. A little pedestrian overall and is outclassed by the superior 1988. — a month ago
Crisp, not too sweet —perfect aperitif IMHO — 5 days ago
2014 vintage. Very tight, with that great 2014 acidity that balances the richness of this great vintage. Still a baby, needs many more years, but I can see this becoming one of the legendary Guiraud Sauternes in 10 years time. Conservative score for now. — a month ago
9/15/2024: Surprisingly sweet. Not sparkling? — 2 months ago
Quite approachable at this young age. 30 minutes decant and it’s open for business. Aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, sweet spices, cocoa, and lightly roasted nuts. The depth of flavors and elegant medium to full body show the pedigree. If blinded, I would not be able to tell this is a Sangiovese dominant blend. Would prefer a bit more acidity. But who am I to complain. — 2 days ago
Best Moscato d’Asti I’ve tasted. Beautifully floral and perfect balance, sweet but not too sweet, slightly fizzy but not too much. — a month ago
One of Napoleon's favorites and also one of mine. Fully complemented my dessert but didn't add overwhelming sweetness 😊 — 2 months ago
