Marchesi Antinori
Tignanello Toscana Super Tuscan Blend
A truly fine young Tig, this 375 was strutting it’s exceptionally smooth and long Sangiovese with class. The last sip suggests a cellar-dweller will be rewarded.

Jun 15th, 2021Last dinner for the trip. From a restaurant list, decanted for 45 min. Nice deep purple hue with some red. Notes of currants, strawberry, some herbal thing like eucalyptus and some spice. Rich and round in the mouth. Not showing any tannins. Nice finish. Was good not great.

May 24th, 2019I can just smell forever. Moss, olive, pomegranate, bell pepper, cherry, and more. Keeps changing in my glass. What a treat!

Mar 31st, 2019WNH event number two. Rhône varietal wines with TX BBQ...a match made in Heaven!
Another leftover bottle from last night’s Italian theme. Obviously super young, but in the name of research, it was fun to see how this tastes...this is a big and structured Tig. Almost bruising right now. Toes the line between underripe and herbal and fruit forward in style. There is mocha, fig, cocoa dusted bay leaf, and blackberries on the nose. Big on the palate with more dark cocoa shavings, a rich black cherry liqueur and a unique licorice and oregano finish. Give this some time before it becomes a knockout. Thanks for bringing @Mike R !

2015 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately. Very little sediment. Medium-medium-heavy body. Structure and both ample grip and fruit in a beautiful balance currently and for the foreseeable future. No rush to crush. Revisit in a decade. Wowzers. 5.17.24.
