The description: The sweetly frivolous and fruity side of Central Otago Pinot Noir is bound up in this bottle of Stolen Kiss Rosé; once unleashed into your glass its candy-floss and crème-brûlée aromas shall sashay into a flirtatious toffee-apple and simmering strawberry palate smeared with cherry lip-gloss; most fun to drink chilled on sultry summer afternoons and evenings.
The opinion: Accurate and very good. Stolen Kiss is somewhat variable but 2022 and 2023 is very good. Summer afternoon with a well chilled bottle, can’t go wrong.

Vintage 2016 | a rather sophisticated Fronsac, with the characteristics of a nobleman. Dark colour. Nice summerfruit in smell. Sultry in taste, especcialy after 24 hours aeration. Beautiful concentration. Good acidity, lively. Classic. Biowine. 90% Merlot, 10% Cab Franc. | Paired with beef tenderloin first day, a vegan salad and cheeses second day. — 2 years ago

Sultry, deep dark black raspberry, mocha, clove, and anise. Complimentary lifted eucalyptus, almost minty aromas too. Dark berry, French oak scents, tobacco, and black peppercorns dance on the palate. At 15.5% the alcohol doesn’t show, but this is rich and opulent. Perfect for a ribeye or fireside night cap. Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2011

This is quite the sultry, voluptuous red. I was a little dismayed to see 16% on the label, but it was actually pretty balanced. Nose has warm sandstone, baking spice, and sweet oozing dark red berries. Full (obviously) in the mouth, with peppery berry fruit and stony minerality in the finish. Went really well with mesquite-grilled porterhouses. — 4 years ago

Rainy Saturday night at home listening to Lady Blackbird. Smoky, sultry, spellbinding. Fresh, with lots of finesse. Stewed fruits on the nose with hints of minerality. Some spice on the palate. Subtle hints of dried longan.

Blend of Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, Minustello, Carcaghjolu, and Moresconu. Northwest- and south-facing vineyards on a windswept clay-limestone terroir. The estate has been certified organic since 2002 and the vines have been farmed according to biodynamic principles since 2006. The yield for this cuvée was 25 hl/ha. After hand-harvesting and sorting, the grapes are 100% destemmed and vinified with indigenous yeasts in clay amphorae. The wine is neither fined nor filtered. No SO2 added.
