The description: 'Freshness, Fruit and Richness, the promise of Lavantureux Petit Chablis''.
The Petit Chablis from Roland Lavantureux is like a Bourgogne blanc from Antoine Jobard or Jean-Marc Roulot—a delicious, meticulously crafted wine that offers a taste of the magic found in the domaine’s more exclusive wines, with all the refreshing minerality and stoniness that is the hallmark of cool-climate Chardonnay grown on limestone. A sketch by da Vinci isn’t the Mona Lisa, but it still comes from the master’s hand.
The opinion: complex and beautiful.

The description: Garnet red colour with sparkling cherry highlights. The nose is expressive, complex with dominant notes of red fruit that grows to the mouth. The palate is smooth, round with a good freshness. Supported by fine tannins and a velvety mouth with a lot of persistence and volume. A successful wine to enjoy without waiting.
The opinion: consistently awesome, great value for money. — 3 months ago
The description: This bright, sunny, light-to-medium-bodied, salmon-coloured beauty is an elegantly crisp, refreshing, well-balanced, and deliciously dry Côtes de Provence Rosé. This Cru Classé is made mainly from the local Provençal grape variety Tibouren, together with some Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Mourvèdre.
The opinion: Very good. Taste gets deeper the more you hold it in your mouth. — 11 days ago
The description: Deep ruby colour, with purple shadows. The bouquet shows rose, delicate red fruits similar to currant and raspberry, pepper, clove and accents of brush. Medium-bodied, in the mouth is velvety, with hints of cherry, blueberry and licorice, with fresh and energetic tannins.
The opinion: Agee with description, and it’s an excellent wine. — 2 months ago
The description: Complex and enticing, a sense of place and pinosity, there’s detail in the fragrances from dark cherry to old strawberry, raspberry and baking spices. Some of the classic Otago landscape scents of dried herb and thyme frame some of the bouquet along with some smoky tones of barrel with clove and vanilla. An equally complex and textured wine touches the palate with a firmness from tannins and acidity, savoury qualities from site captured in the winemaking and core flavours that speak to variety and the Dicey SV style. Warm with plenty of texture and fruit concentration, a wine that will go the distance with best drinking from 2026 through 2036+.
The opinion: just excellent — 2 months ago
The description: Mostly famous for its dark, rich and powerful reds, Bastide de la Ciselette offers a rosé with a full spectrum of aromas including wild raspberries, blood orange, ruby red grapefruit and white pepper. The mouth has a rich texture and notes of sage, rosemary and pink peppercorn.
The opinion: The description is accurate but and it’s very good but previous years better; normally mark it a 9 or better. — a month ago
The description: Drinkability is dialled all the way up in this bottle, think dusty chalk notes on the nose with satsuma plum, red currants and raspberry coulis in the glass and the kind of sweet spice that keeps you coming back for more.
The opinion: it’s a very different dish o the Côtes du Rhône I normally drink, having said that I have had several Beaujolais before. I can’t match the description with what I am drinking. — 2 months ago
The description: The colour is salmon, light pink rose. The aromas show fresh strawberries, cranberry and hints of white pepper. The palate is where the romance is. The texture is crisp almost crunchy, which brings out the fresh strawberry and red tree fruit characters. This wines truly refreshes the palate… and soul.
The opinion. Perfect for quaffing on the deck and great value. Definitely buying in a dozen for summer. — 3 months ago
The Description: A youthful and vibrant bouquet of dark cherry and spiced plums are laced with dried herbs and a natural savoury complexity. As the wine touches the palate the textures from tannins and place are captured first with a firm youthful grip accentuated by acidity and freshness then a stony clay soil quality. Fruit flavours mirror the bouquet then spices from barrel and fruit. A firm dry wine with plenty of youthful textures, ripe fruits and a lengthy finish. Complexity is building yet, a wine that needs maturing time with best drinking likely from 2027 through 2037+.
The opinion: I loved the 2021, I love the 2022. It does have acidity at this stage in life, but still a beautiful wine. I put some bottles away to mature, however very good drinking now!
PS: I think there is a hole in my wine glass…it keeps emptying itself! — 4 months ago

The description:
A deep ruby-red hue with deep-purple highlights. A distinct touch of blackcurrant fills a rich and explosive nose. A soft palate showing sweetness. A touch of moka, chocolate, adds to the complexity. Well structured tannins enhance the body. Very well-balanced. For drinking now or can hold for 2 to 6.
The opinion:
I would add there is a liquorice note. This is a big wine and needs a big flavoured food dish with it. — a day ago
