Château Léoville Poyferré

Saint Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, aged in 80% new oak, deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe berry fruits, cedar, floral and earthy spice notes. On the palate flavors of blueberry, cherry and blackberry with vanilla, licorice, tobacco and toasty oak notes. Long rich finish on fine juicy tannins, drinking ok now but has room to age. Very Nice! — 18 hours ago

Château Meyney

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

Flight 3 , wine 2. Medium ruby and garnet terracotta rim. Quite reticent at first but marked but a light cassis , blackcurrant note , some violet also . More menthol and cassis on the palate also . Quite good density and with good fruit , slightly medicinal hint on the finish. Pretty good overall and though rustic was well balanced . This I thought was the Duhart 82 , probably because of the density on the palate , however was wrong , yet again. — 13 days ago

Château Fleur Cardinale

Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Last tasted 11.21.21 (9.3), Body has thinned out from medium heavy/heavy body to medium body along with one of the best BDX noses I've ever scented still performing as such. The 11.21.21 notes still holding up. Sprinkle a little corn meal into that nose and we are golden. Wine is currently in a state of transition but still so giving. Ridiculous value BDX. Need to pick up another 4-5 bottles. This is going to be a fascinating journey. 02.17.25. — 17 days ago

Château Léoville Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Considered by some to be the Wine of the Vintage, the 2005 Léoville-Barton
Is a full bodied mouthful of black currants, minerals, spices, grippy tannins and enough energy to evolve for another decade.

Château Lagrange

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (46%), Merlot (45%) and Petite Verdot (9%). Dark garnet/ruby color with a noticeable brick colored rim. Aromas of black fruit and berries, leather, rose petals and tobacco. Flavors of ripe black plums, black currant, black cherry, graphite and iodine. Long, earthy and softly textured finish that features a nice amount of oak. Well integrated and very soft tannins. Medium to medium-plus body. Still fresh and concentrated on it’s twentieth birthday. So easy to drink. Thanks for sharing this impressive bottle, Kase and Pete. — 15 days ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1983

Shay A
9.3

(Two previous 1983 wine reviews never made it on here, so copying from my CT).

Continuing a run of ‘83s over the last 3-6 months, this not only showed quite well, but it was at its best after almost two hours in the bottle. Whereas the ‘83 Pichon was clean and elegant, this was a bit more dense and powerful. Beautifully expressive aromatics of potpourri, espresso, fig and leather with a flavor profile mostly on the red/black fruit side of the spectrum. The mid-palate showed good weight and continued to bulk-up during the evening. Old cherry-tobacco note at the finish. Honestly, this drank like it was more early ‘90s than it was early ‘80s. Good.
