Pinot Noir Rosé 2019

2019 | Pinot Noir
Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey; Rosé de Pinot Noir
Burgundy; Côte de Beaune, Hautes-Cote de Beaune, France
(91-93; Drink 2023-26)

+3Y in the cellar has really benefited this wine, generous strawberry, ripe apricot, orange zest tingle the senses, finally.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading Julia ADOLPHE (Makeshift Castle), STRAUSS songs with orchestra (Muttertändelei, Opus 43, No. 2 / Wiegenlied, Opus 41, No. 1 / Waldseligkeit, Opus 49. No. 1 / Ruhe, meine Seele, Opus 27, No. 1 / Zueignung, Opus 10, No. 1 / Morgen, Opus 27, No. 4) all voiced by our favorite soprano Renée Fleming, and closing with STRAVINSKY (Petrushka, 1947 version).

*Unfortunately, cellist Yo-Yo Ma has had to withdraw from today's planned performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 due to testing positive for COVID-19.

Since when did Palari make oaky wines?!? (This was still decent, but with a distracting amount of oak, even on night 2.) — 6 years ago

Corail Saumur Brut Cabernet Franc Rosé

Very nice bottle for the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon, Andris conducting Mahler No. 4 in G (brilliant work), and his beautiful wife Kristine as soprano soloist.
Typical CF nose, and lightly dirty on the palate, yet has minor ruby red grapefruit finish, at $16 this is a star!

Wow, this continues to be one of my favorite Provence rosés, ripe strawberry, cold peach, watermelon rind, damp limestone, white pepper; with +3Y of age we're at peak enjoyment.

Celebration wine! Looking back at this past year so many things to be grateful for given the atmosphere of...well let's say a lot!
I chose this wine because both of my kids are musical! Son...viola; daughter chorus (soprano one). Love classical music.

Celebrating my daughter's marriage, reduced as it was..Pandemic woes. Two days later we moved my son to start a 6 month. Contract position in the Biomedical field which landed him a permanent position that he loves!
I retired! No regrets.
Celebrating my daughter in her 3rd yr..Master's program at Iowa for Audiology ( AuD). Getting ready to start her 4rth entire yr. Externship at Yale New Haven Connecticut Hospital. Grateful that her husband is able to take his job with him!
So proud of them!

This wine despite the musical notations for its selection is absolutely amazing! Fruit..earth..acidity..structure is gorgeous and is drinking really well now! Huge smile stuck on my face! 😁😁
Peeps 🐣 to date! For my exposure to wine! This IS the best that I have had!

Chambolle - Musigny Pinot Noir 2017

@delectable pierre brisset chambolle musigny

Definitely a “we’re not in Kansas anymore” wine.

Nose is very clean. Cherries but a hint of richness (not oak) if that makes sense. Almost a hint of like cherry liquor but like the best cherry liquor in the world (which might not exist as most cherry liquor is plonk). cherry flower perfume.

Palate is almost champagne-like if that makes any sense. A very clean balancing acidity that just sings like a single long soprano note over the fruit. Pristine cherries. At 30 minutes density comes out. Getting amazing

Crazy freshness.

Length on this is insane.

Barolo Nebbiolo 2017

Classic, elegant #barolo from a famous producer family. Classic roses, tart cherry, dried herbs on the nose. Medium weight on palate, soprano acidity on palate - I’ll leave my other two bottles to age at least 5 years longer but this paired properly with a wild boar Bolognese pappardelle with mushrooms. — 3 years ago

Vare Vineyard Ribolla Gialla 2015

I feel like I’m on a beautiful Italian coast eating seafood that was just swimming, enjoying this crazy good wine. The aromas start as pure funk, like a nutty, salty, hard cheese with some age. With air and temp a dense tropical tone emerges overlaying stones/seashells. It’s like squeezing lemon into a fresh oyster. Viscous mouthfeel with medium+ acid finishing somewhere near mezzo-soprano. — 8 years ago
