Drinking beautifully. Smooth and well rounded - some cigar box on the nose. Elegant dark fruit on the palate. It’s singing. — 2 years ago

Ridge Vineyards

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2005

1 hour decant(some chunky/fine sediment). A splendid dark medium garnet with little bricking. On the nose: expressive perfumed nose with dark plum/cherry, currants, milk chocolate, baking spice, floral, wet forest floor, touch of roasted meat. Taste: silky, balanced, elegant wine that is singing at 20 years with dried red fruit, earth, chocolate, cedar, minerals, saline, and a spiced-tobacco-green bell pepper long finish. YUM! — 25 days ago

Nice!

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2004

Singing right now. As good a Lynch Bages as I have had. Still nice dark fruit - dark cherry on the nose and a hint of tobacco. Smooth and well balanced on the palate with an elegant, smooth, super long finish — 8 months ago

Dominus Estate

Dominus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2016

The closest thing to true Bordeaux style red blend from Napa. This wine really accentuates the vintage and the terroir, along with fruit and soil. The Dominus Estate manages the vineyard via dry farming, relying on nature for water, making a profound difference on great vintages such as 2016. Find a good vintage Dominus and you’re bound to have one of kind. Cheers. — 5 months ago

Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2018

It has been a little over a year since my last note on the 2018 vintage. Popped and poured, enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2018 pours a pale garnet with transparent core; medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with delicate notes of funky cherry, rose water, tar and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. A touch thinner than some of the “bigger” vintages but no less charming. I’m sort of a sucker for the 2018 vintage in how enjoyable these are to drink in their youth. Drink now through 2038 — 9 months ago

Solid stuff in pretty much any vintage. Just ordered a six pack of 2019 on pre-arrival. Salute! 🍷
