Chemically free farming. Insanely delicious. 7 years on the lees. 1/2 is 2017, 1/2 is 1996 reserve and some years in between. Yeasty, brioche side. Apply, citrus, nuttiness, almond. 75% Pinot adds body and fullness. 7 g/l dosage. Outstanding for $48. Disgorged 2024. — 10 months ago
Here’s another smoking good southern french white. Very interesting blend and the first time I can remember seeing Carignan Blanc. Also Roussanne Grenache Blanc and Vermentino. Sulfur needs to blow off. So beautifully textured and detailed. Glides across the palate. Green apple, citrus, almond, custard/fondant/banana on the palate and a floral, carnation (?) finish. Seductive. This would be so fun to throw into a blind tasting. Love. — 6 years ago

Atherton Wine Imports 2026 tasting at République, Los Angeles. 2023 vintage. Hard to find affordable (a relative term re: Burgundy) Chambolle Musigny premmie Cru offerings and this one’s not helping. Has many of the attributes that make CM so great. Decisions…decisions. Medium/medium-heavy body along with full spice racks on both sides of the mouth. Plenty to go around in the back along with some exquisite polish to conclude the ceremony. 3.18.26. — 3 months ago

2019; Very hot today (96°) needed cold wine relief.
Nose has under-ripe green apple, lime zest, peach, crushed lemongrass, green melon, river stones and wet chalk.
Palate has under-ripe pineapple, key lime, yellow grapefruit, under-ripe white peach, crushed limestone and faint salinity with medium acidity.
I'm familiar with this producer, but the first time seeing this single lieu-dit (Les Sentiers) selection. Very nice effort here. Double decanted with 2H rest. 93-94 — 4 years ago

Really an exceptional perfectly aged red burgundy from our favorite appellation. Had at Tour d’Argent in Paris - one of the best wine lists in the world. Crazy value for a wine this old, and really delicious. Very aromatic with dried red fruit and some definite secondary / tertiary notes. But palate is quite fresh - lots of acid and a hint of menthol. Well integrated tannins and very smooth and persistent finish. Excellent. — 8 years ago
