Brut Reserve Sekt Riesling Blend 2016

The best Riesling I tasted so far. Bright chrysanthemum color with cool & sweet aromas of jasmin, flower bouquet, and citrus on the nose. Medium-to-full-bodied coupled with fresh flavors of apricot, peach, and mint leaf on the palate. Very clean & crisp with lingering finish. Sekt Elbling

Nose has chilled, fresh cut yellow & green apples, wet spring hay and twist of lemon peel.

Palate has sugary limestone, tart green apple and light grassy herbal notes.

Last bottle.

If you're not drinking Elbling sekt, I ask why? You need to experience it at least once, and likely that won't be enough. A much more balanced grape for sekt, the Riesling versions can get a little screechy with higher acidity, Elbling is quite even keeled.

Really bruised apple, nuts, trail mix. The wine is dying to get out of the bottle, definitely something going on in there like another fermentation. Not sure if it’s faulted but it’s pretty tasty none the less. Would definitely choose the rosé frizzante over this though. — a month ago
