Elegant as all get out. I can’t get over Palo Cortado, even with its shady requirement to be called “Palo Cortado”—pretty sure some are no more accidental “failed Finos” than chocolate chip cookies were a ‘whoops I dropped chocolate in the dough’—but that matters not. Mixed nuts and lemon and amaretto don’t sound like things I’d want to consume all at once but they are elements of this wine I love all at once. — 3 years ago

In a perfect spot. Chestnut, truffle, forest floor, potpourri and dried cherry and strawberry on the nose. Plenty of beautiful and lively fruit on the palate. Red berries, amaretto, roasted meat, toasted cocoa and earth. More minty and herbal on day two, but hasn’t faded a bit. One of the finest aged bottles I’ve had- really exquisite. This bottle has special meaning for me because it is one of the first wines I ever bought intentionally to cellar. Two bottles left. — 2 years ago
