Fresh, tangy berries and herbs. The Malvasia really brightens and lifts the Primitivo here. Unexpectedly light and lively. Great on a snow day, but would be lovely through the Summer, too. — 6 years ago
Harmonious sanguine and lingeringly tangy black cherry with a touch of mocha on the slate-y finish. Shows nicely on day two. — 6 years ago
Delicate but lengthy. Juicy but crisp. Citrusy and herbaceous. Menetou-Salon meets Casablanca Valley. Lemon, star fruit, and fennel. Just nice. — 6 years ago
What most Southern Rhône wines aspire to be. Velvety wildberry compote speaking to the Grenache, green peppercorn the Syrah, and a bit of something earthy/sanguine the Mourvèdre all in harmony. No indication on the palate of the labeled 14.5%. Just plain good! — 6 years ago
Screwcap. Still absolutely rocks! Plums and blackberries awash in milk chocolate, licorice, and leather with fruit and acid in harmony. A bit truncated but that just makes me go back for the next sip sooner. — 6 years ago
Warming nose of breadlines, smoked meat, and a touch of iodine. Bright berry on the front palate. Currant liqueur on the finish. No mid-palate at all. Beautiful wrapping job on an empty box. — 6 years ago
Pretty much industry standard Dolcetto. Soft and supple dark berries and blueberry skin. A touch hot for 13%. Nice enough with a hot Italian sausage pizza. — 6 years ago
It’s got POP! Seriously bright with lively acid. Punchy raspberry, cranberry, and deep forest floor with complexity that belies its weight. Mmm mmm, good. — 6 years ago
A likely final visit with an old friend from my 2013 France trip. A touch oxidized but still loaded with raspberry, licorice, olive, and a touch of amaretto. Big but harmonious. — 6 years ago

Rich and soft stewed cherry and plum. Gentle acid. Mild, grainy tannins. Holds up on day two. A great intro to the new wave of Uruguayan wine. — 6 years ago
