Whoa! This was somewhat unexpected. Aromas of blood orange rind, black cherries and fecal matter...but in a good way...just gotta trust me on this one. Dark cherry liqueur, amaretto, anise, clove, and nutmeg on the palate. Kinda wild stuff actually. The 15% ABV isn’t a surprise considering the amount of power in the glass but it’s really well hidden. Fascinating expression from Uccelliera.

A very different expression as compared to the 2010 vintage (which was much meaner). Attractive, floral, and ripe. Sweet cherry, blood, fresh roses, leather, and savory baking spice. Firm tannins that balance out well against the acid.

Beautiful muddiness, goes perfectly with cheese shipment from Firenze.

Ready to drink. Smooth subtle tannins. Still some acid, but likely not for long. Black cherry, tobacco, and the slightest bit of raisin (whew!)

Costco special. 15% ABV

Oak and tannins are refined and subtle. Bold flavors of cherry up front countered by medium bodied tobacco.
