Argiano, Brunello di Montalcino, vintage 2015, ABV 14%. — 2 days ago
Aged in oak barrels for about 30 months, deep Ruby with rich ripe berry fruit aromas and hints of earthy floral scents. On the palate flavors of ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry fruit with complex herb spice, licorice, tobacco and cacao. Lively acidity with fine tannins, toasty oak notes take this wine to a rich long finish ending with a savory earthy mineral character. Outstanding. — 10 days ago
Urban Wines of Sweden has somehow cojnured up this BdM and called it Armatura. If anyone knows more, please enlighten me. 36 mo on barrel and 12 in bottle, 14% alc. The wine is clear and dark red in color; nose is clearly Sangiovese but with more dried red fruit (almost ripasso-esque) including both strawberries and dark cherries, spices, chocolate, and mineral hints; taste is subdued and mild with fine tannins, but elegant fruity with nougat, lemon-pepper. Overall seems well made but with a structure better suited for early drinking than long-term storage. — 14 hours ago
On the nose old Cohiba leaf and cherry stems. Completely resolved and beautifully broad, elements of cherry pit, dried red fruit, candied cherry and dark chocolate all combine beautifully to a finish that veers towards Bordeaux. Long, dry and smooth finish. Outstanding. A few years left to the beginning of the end. — an hour ago
Aged in French oak barrels for about 36 months, produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes, picked by hand from 20-year old vines. Deep Ruby with concentrated ripe red fruit aromas and complex floral spice scents. On the palate, this outstanding full-bodied wine shows flavors of cherry and dark berry fruit, layered spices, cinnamon, tobacco & cacao, well integrated. Savory, smooth tannins, smoky oak notes, long rich finish. Drinking well, still has room to age. Outstanding! Tasting Sample. — 11 days ago
