Fully mature. Fine, integrated tannins. Beautiful pure fruit profile with some acid, and tannin to give structure. Lots of tertiary - leather, forest floor, earth, umami, tobacco. Grip. Long. Right in the sweet spot. — 20 days ago
Superb with our Margarita Pizza. Big Cherry aromas with the slightest tawny tinge as I poured. Bold flavors with a long finish. Two bottles left! — 12 days ago
Particularly earthy and elegant, the 2006 Valdicava Brunello displays a dark primary fruit appearance, but in its nineteenth year, it has clearly evolved from a dense, fruit bomb into a more refined pour with gentle and teasing tertiary aromas and flavors.
It is soft, flavorful, medium bodied, still well structured with light tannins and brisk acidity, and reveals interesting and savory notes of baking spices, dried fruits, nuts and herbal underbrush. The finish is long and satisfying. Aficionados of well aged wines, this is for you!

We had the 20111 Vintage on 2/8/25. Black fruit, leather and pepper on the bouquet . Black cherry, leather and tobacco on the palate. A darker toned wine than the 2010. Still very good. Tannins were all smoothed out. Medium bodied and truly Old World — 22 days ago

At Coci Northpark San Diego. The wine. Food excellent. Very very difficult to evaluate. I think they used too much oak on this. Ridiculous big and tannic even after 12 years. And after 90 minutes. I tough it is corked at first and even at 60min. Tobacco, cigar box. Touch cherry hint of prune plum. And better with a t-bone than with the light Italian food.I think they really overdid it to please - May be Robert Parker - at the time? Give it at least 2 hours to breathe before serving!!!! — 15 days ago
