Incredible wine! A bouquet of excellence with dark fruit, good acidity and well integrated tannins. Approachable, but i would definitely try another wine of a different vintage. A must try again. — 23 days ago
I disliked this barolo at first but I truly learned a lot from it. Initially it was pure burgundarian: red fruit, elegant, mild tannins and just simply elegant but little did i know cannubi tends to produce such wine but as it evolved and opened up, I started to love the evolution of the wine. The red fruit and elegance was still there but I began to taste more sweet and tangy notes. The fruit began to yield dried fruit, spice, leather, earth and the tannins began to strengthen because the main actor wasn't the fruit anymore. This wine is life: you may not like the fruit that was given initially but through time, you began to appreciate why it was that way. Life is wine and wine is life. Enjoy this masterpiece. I will try another cannubi but this time from an iconic producer. — a month ago

Fantastic wine from monforte d'alba. Powerful wine from the get go with dark cherry notes, licorice, cedar and hints of rose. As it evolved throughout the decanting process it started to yield more dried roses, leather, earthiness and a sweet and tangy taste. Great wine initially in all aspects but the finish left more to desire. Unlike other barolos, the finish was dull but overall it was an enjoyable wine from the cru of gavarini chiniera — a month ago

So much potential but its very young! I decanted for a few hours but even then the fruit didn't come out as expected but this wine would be a great addition to long term storage. Curious to try the 2020 since it may be what the 2019 will be in the future with subtle differences of course. Will try again but in a few years. — 8 days ago

It was very acidity and a bit bland at first. Maybe it needed more time, but decanted for 3ish hours and it tasted a lot like mushrooms, balsamic, black currant and a touch of underbrush with forest floor- with a touch of oak and spice. It was tannic but there was a lack of something in the mid palate and fruit. As I drank the last glass after 5 hours of decanting, it started to open up beautifully. All the aforementioned characteristics but with a strong mid palate filled with dark fruit. Delicious. Not as good as other vintages but this is worth drinking but give it some time to decante. Maybe 4+ hours. — a month ago
