Much better cool and on the second day. Complex nose of honey, slate, mineral, peach, apricot, porcini, spice and wild mint. The palate is juicy, ripe, honeyed and very pure, with good acidity completely integrated into the wine. The finish initially seems short, then unexpectedly returns and keeps changing, although not in an entirely cohesive way. It is like a 30-minute David Lynch film. Strange, compressed, complex and ultimately compelling. Great mature Auslese. — 2 days ago

The nose is pleasant rather than transporting, with dosage, creaminess, lime and apricot, while the palate carries the wine: good mousse, nice concentration, peachy-apricot fruit, purity, balance and a clean finish. It’s not trying to rearrange the ceiling tiles. It’s a very well-made, easy summer Sekt that disappears happily. — 17 days ago

Rich and soft, predominantly ripe and candied peach (both natural and peach-o-ring types), was surprised how different it was than the Urziger Wurzgarten of the same vintage. Redemption for a underperforming bottle from our last go at this 1992. If you're buying old wine and didn't anticipate bottle variation, you need to know that's just part of the game. This bottle is fantastic.
